Hi,
Whats the deal with arbing between the BF Exchange / Sportsbook ?
Noticed tonight that on allot of Greyhound markets where there is a clear favourite that some fairly large arbs appeared between the two.
Example:
Back dog x on the Sportsbook @ 2.5
Lay dog x on the Exchange @ 2.1
Will you get banned/restricted for taking up the situations ?
Regards,
Exchange / Sportsbook

Interesting post, Cybernet.
Many moons ago, I dabbled in matched betting and I'm fairly sure someone reported being restricted by the Betfair sportsbook for doing that.

After the first bet ?
I been placing £12 Greyhound Forecast bets over a number of days, some have won and some have lost. Around 50 in total.
Not been restricted or got any warning emails.
Or do you mean that they will know if I arb between the Sportsbook / Exchange etc ?
If the answer to that is yes, then I am sure there will be arbs between the Sportsbook / Betdaq, which they obviously wont know about ?
Thanks,
PS. The obvious greyhound race tonight was the 21:49 Sunderland, some very heavy backing on the favourite down to around 1.96. The sportsbook seem to be way out of sync.

If you work on the basis that the sportsbook operates like a normal bookie, you will probably be restricted at some point.

Betfair used to let me use their sports book. Now I'm making money I'm restricted. So if your a profitable trader I very much doubt they will let you use their sports book.cybernet69 wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2017 10:34 pmAfter the first bet ?

I do a lot of matched betting, its far easier to make money than trading, but it does not have the huge potential that trading can have for the few that become good at it. Regarding BF they are very quick to gubb/restrict people. Arbing between their sportsbook and their exchange usually means very quick restrictions. A few people seem to manage to get away with this for a while but most don't.cybernet69 wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2017 9:54 pmHi,

I would certainly look at other exchanges to see if there are similar opportunities, also look at other bookies to see if their odds are as generous as BFs Sportsbook seem to be. I will look at some of the bookies I have been gubbed with to see if they have similar arbing opportunities. I don't tend to like using healthy bookie accounts for arbing, as when I have done this in the past, they don't stay healthy for very long.cybernet69 wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2017 10:34 pmIf the answer to that is yes, then I am sure there will be arbs between the Sportsbook / Betdaq, which they obviously wont know about ?
Although they wont know that your placing matching bets on another exchange, they will easily be able to tell what you are doing if a trader happens to look at your account. No one knows or at least is willing to tell, what aglos bookies use to highlight possible match bettors/arbers but when you are taking lots of prices which are better than the exchanges are offering then your account usually wont last for long. If you look on line there are lots of ideas and strategies to try and prolong your account, but a lot of it seems down to luck, they also use tracking software (somehow legally) to track what sites you are visiting, google iesnare for some background on this, and how to combat it.cybernet69 wrote: ↑Fri May 12, 2017 10:34 pmIarbs between the Sportsbook / Betdaq, which they obviously wont know about ?
