A horse I think has been a non-trier, nice looking plan here today. 7.15 Elite Shadow. 22s. Crazy price.

I would argue his true chances at least 10% don't understand the 22.00 price.

First OR was 70. IMO moves like an 80 rated horse, Although the entire field is lightly raced he has an opening OR of a horse with ability. I am pretty certain he hasn't been trying at all yet.

Little bit more info re Elite Shadow ...third foal out of Silver Elite ( 3wins rated low 60's) , home breed and all three have been trained by Gay Kellaway. By Finjaan who was very speedy and dam won over 5/6f.Lightiy raced 4 yo half brother has shown promise in two races over a mile ( last ran in January ) but is by Mawatheeq, so bit more stamina there.

Form of last two races working out ok .. third in Newcastle race Wazim won yesterday on a mark of 69. Previously 2nd to Bungee Jump, who has since won at Lingfield off a mark of 76

As you know I'm a great believer in stable form and Gay Kellaways runners appear to be below form .. one win in 20 odd runners , winner back in January and a 4/9 fav beaten yesterday

Would be more interested in both Elite Shadow and Elite Treaty ( once handicapped ) if stable was in form .. but would take a leap of faith to see them achieving ratings of around 80

Trading at Lingfield is something I only do as a last resort - when all else is abandoned.

Not a bad day at Newbury.

Today is the official start of the new flat turf season, finally the ‘flat is back’, although it does seem to of come around quicker this year.

If your newish to trading this blog is worth a read on what to expect as the jumps season ends and the flat takes over

Seems early I think because there's still not much sign of spring in the air. Clocks go forward too which is always welcome news.

The Brocklesby (first 2yo race of the season) is always a bit of fun to trade on, as long as you don't get too serious with it. :)

any reason why the better opportunities seem to be at the back end of the afternoon?
