Automation???

Could someone please enlighten me as to what the automation function does / how it works? I have looked at the manual and the information is rather limited in there. Many thanks in anticipation of your help :)

The automation tab allows you to set triggers.

Set a price range in the settings tab to trigger a back or a lay bet then activate against selected runners in the automation tab.

I thought the user guide covered this to be honest?
