How did you deposit and withdraw from them, Derek? I'm considering whether to accept my invite and create an account. If you were just being a bookie to arbers why didn't you just flip and do the same as you've said before you used to arb.
good question. and along the same lines, are betconnect quick to limit like willhill etc?? apologies if this is well known already, just don't have any experience with them.spreadbetting wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 1:53 pmHow did you deposit and withdraw from them, Derek? They won't limit anyone as it's punter vs punter , they're not matching any bets so the bigger the better suits them fine.
Simply deposit and withdraw with a debit card, only you're only allowed to use one card.jimibt wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 1:58 pmgood question. and along the same lines, are betconnect quick to limit like willhill etc?? apologies if this is well known already, just don't have any experience with them.spreadbetting wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 1:53 pmHow did you deposit and withdraw from them, Derek? It was really a stalemate - I couldn't back most of my lays at a much higher price but I doubt I would have made any money from the other side. As you know, odds comparison sites are quite slow to update the fast-changing prices so you're getting a lot of bet requests that are no longer available at the advertised price. I would imagine a lot of requests get rejected plus the 15-minute thinking time the 'punters' have would put me of being a 'pro'.
betconnect will never limit a customer because they are effectively an exchange like Betfair and have no liability themselves.
thanks - in which case, limited opportunity to arb between the betfair api and betconnect scrapes (unless there is a betconnect api?)..spreadbetting wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 2:01 pmThey won't limit anyone as it's punter vs punter , they're not matching any bets so the bigger the better suits them fine.

from what i can see in the promo video, backing is achieved via backing with a high street bookie and laying is achieved via the platform. i may have picked up something wrong in my understanding, but i watched the video here: https://www.racingpost.com/news/new-soc ... ons/346426
I think they mean evens or above, but strictly speaking, the way that is worded bets above evens are commission free!Subject to paragraph 12.3, Commission shall be charged to the Professional at the following rates:
(a) if the Bet Request is placed at evens, 3% of the total amount of all Bet Proportions which have been laid by Customers in respect to that Bet Request;
(b) if the Bet Request is placed at less than evens (i.e. “odds on”), 3% of any potential Winnings (whether or not Winnings are paid).

I was talking about from the 'pros' point of view. The 'pro' will pay commission for bets place, and if he's arbing pay Betfair commission on the losers he lays. The 'punters' are laying the 'pros' bets, and if they choose can cover themselves with a bookie.jimibt wrote: ↑Thu Nov 01, 2018 3:10 pmfrom what i can see in the promo video, backing is achieved via backing with a high street bookie and laying is achieved via the platform. i may have picked up something wrong in my understanding, but i watched the video here: https://www.racingpost.com/news/new-soc ... ons/346426
