Things a bit scatty today?
Markets haven't looked appealing all week so decided I'd take a few days away the racing this week but will be getting back into it as from tomorrow
Sensible, mostly whenever I’ve seen an half decent signal with what I think is a good position & entered I’ve either missed it or it’s cone back, Lingfield especially, weird.

Also need to bear in mind that if you back selections on betconnect and lay them on the exchange you'd be paying commission whatever the outcome - with betconnect if it wins or Betfair if it loses.
What do betconnect charge? Thanks for the help btw
Subject to paragraph 12.3, Commission shall be charged to the Professional at the following rates:
(a) if the Bet Request is placed at evens, 3% of the total amount of all Bet Proportions which have been laid by Customers in respect to that Bet Request;
(b) if the Bet Request is placed at less than evens (i.e. “odds on”), 3% of any potential Winnings (whether or not Winnings are paid).
I think they mean evens or above, but strictly speaking, the way that is worded bets above evens are commission free!
https://www.betconnect.com/terms-conditions/

In their terms they state
For the avoidance of any doubt, Customers will not be liable to pay any commission.
Is that referring to people laying the bets as opposed to the 'Pros' making the bets? Were you ever charged comms laying bets? From what I could gather from their t&c's the pro's pay the comms for placing bets regardless of win/lose.

Spikes through the spread, I’m unable to gauge a move with activity like that, it’s just put me off.

The T&C are split into pro and punter sections. I think that statement fell in the punter section. So yes, only 'pros' pay commission, 'punters' never get charged.

Probably best to keep all the BetConnect T&C's etc chat on the BetConnect thread as it is going to get lost in the Today's Racing thread for future reference and also isn't really to do with Today's Racing:

Got totally rinsed on Ballyhorne in the 13:20, not focused at all today.

That was a bit unusual on Maebh in the 13:30. It was throwing the jockey off having reared up and fallen to the ground but was actually backed in rather than drifting. Caught me out.

People probably assumed it would be withdrawn and wanted to take advantage of any overround bots.

Yes that was the only thing I could think of.

There are some dire markets around today, effectively 2 runner races. Really need some prolonged rain to fall across the country soon.

There was a classic case of that a few years ago when someone heavily backed in an outsider they thought was about to be WD - they had a right job trying to dump thousands of liability at high odds when it became apparent it wasn't going to be

You do have to wonder if it really is worth the effort.
