pre-match odd changes?

Hello everyone,

I am strongly looking for advices from those of you who have experience in trading football bets.

My question would be how the odds change before the match. I would think that the favourite team's odds get lower and the possibly losing team's odds drift, because of the predictions of the fans ( backing the favourite and laying the 'not favourite' ). But of course I am new to this and I can very easily be wrong, this is why I would really like to know how you think the odds change according to your experiences.

Another enquiry: I heard that laying the draw is a popular tactic. Why is that? Most of the matches do not end with a draw, so how can one possibly gain profit out of laying the draw?

I'd appreciate if anyone could answer these questions.
