You might get a nice Calendar at Christmas instead Peter

If it's any consolation, me neither, but could be something to do with spotting things early and stopping for the day. Anyone who was not so fortunate, or fortunate depending on results, probably got a kind message or compensation. I'm also still on the 2% option, so they probably think I'm happy as Harry and his jam roly polys...and yes I am...Euler wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2019 9:41 amSome people are getting emails and gestures of goodwill.

Saturdays issue was the result of a technical problem with the application that we use to manage markets. The operators of the market management tools were receiving errors when attempting manage (activate, suspend, turn-play, & settle) so we made the decision to take down the Exchange while this was being investigated as a precautionary measure. Given the severity of the issue a detailed investigation is taking place to ensure that we can identify the root cause and prevent this from reoccurring in the future.
Imagine having some kind of a warning system when they're about to shut it all down. Instead of stressing out over potential losses you could hedge out and instead take a day off binge watching Game of Thrones.
would you though?
I would absolutely hedge out at a very bad price instead of letting a random bet run. Who the hell wouldn't.to75ne wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2019 6:33 pmwould you though?
you would be attempting to hedge out with everybody else who as been warned, in all reality you would have to get out at a very bad price if you were lucky.
Finally someone that understands! We also need a sound alert from Peter with an extremely panicky voice telling us that an outage is imminent and doing an overly dramatic countdown.Derek27 wrote: ↑Wed May 22, 2019 8:53 pmI suppose whatever they did would result in chaos, but people with huge liabilities would appreciate any warning.
What they really need is a big red warning light on their website and embedded in the API so software vendors can alert users about an emergency shutdown.![]()
As far as I can establish their api status page is fed directly from the same status monitoring system their support system uses. In theory it should update faster than them contacting a vendor, them relaying it to us etc. Whenever I've traded manually I've always had that on the side of one of my screens and I've sometimes see very brief orange statuses (1 or 2 secs) several minutes before sustained orange or reds.
