I wish to create a simple bot to place drip bets on the over 1.5 goals market. Im ok with that bit but I also want the bot to place a bet if 1 goal is scored in order to take out the liability of the drip bets.

Can anybody steer me in the right direction?

Thanks in advance

Place a lay bet and use 'Net Stake' as your staking method

thanks for getting back Dallas, far more simple than I was expecting! would I use that with Place at: Best market price?

I wouldn't matter were it was placed, you could set it to several ticks above the best reverse price, that will ensure a better chance of being matched - which Betfair would still match at the best price avalible once it reaches the market

nope that didnt work, ha ha, first back was at 1.38 and the lay triggered at 1.45 Im thinking that I need a signal from the o 0.5 market so that the o 1.5 lay is only triggered once the goal goes in with maybe a minutes delay so that the market settles at the lower odds. Going to read up on signals now.

Sorry I though you just needed the staking element to take out your liability.

You'll need to use some conditions to identify when a goal is scored, there are some ready-made files in the shared files section but its probs just as easy to add the following conditions to your lay rule;

Historical relative odds condition
back price now is lower
than back price 65secs ago
minus 10 ticks

Time since market unsuspended condition
is greater than 65 secs

This is optional but tests there is no gap between the back and lay price (ie, market has more or less reformed)
Relative odds condition
Selections back price
is equal to selections lay price
minus 1 tick

Yes I downloaded the store 0 - 0 price file so I was on the right lines but your suggestion looks better. The next part I have to work out is how to cancel any outstanding back bets after the goal goes in and I think that will be it.

The idea is drip back over 1.5.
take out liability after goal
lay 0 - 0 at around 75mins

so that only 0 - 0 really hurts

Thanks again

i used the canx all unmatched bets on selection with the same Historical relative odds condition you suggested to cancel the unmatched bets.

ive got a few matches loaded into guardian so fingers crossed it does what i want it to do! :)
