Hi,

I know you are only allowed 1,000 transactions per hour before getting charged but what is classed as a transaction.

- Place bet
- Cancel bet
- Close bet
- Modify bet

Is the above correct and are there any others ?

Thanks,

The terms and conditions say...
At the end of every day, we add up all the bets you placed or edited (whether matched, cancelled or lapsed). If this number is in excess of 1000 in any hour of the day... .

Worth remembering that sub £2 bets will count double thanks to the clever way BA makes them possible.

If in doubt BF chat support should be able to clarify and if not they'll raise a support request for you that should give you an answer.

Thanks. I assume that includes sub £2 greening up bets too ?

Doesn't modifying a bet count as two transactions, because it involves cancelling a bet and submitting another?

I'd guess so.

You also get 1 extra bet over the 1000 in any hour, per penny of commission you pay per day, so that 1000 needn't be your ceiling. eg if you pay £10 in commission in a day then that's an 1000 extra bets that same day at anytime you need them.

I thought the extra bet per penny commission was in total rather than per hour, ie. total transaction charge - commission. Haven't checked though, being a manual trader it doesn't affect me. :D

The BF api has got a replaceOrders call which they count as one even though as you say it does both.

And fyi it does this....
This operation is logically a bulk cancel followed by a bulk place. The cancel is completed first then the new orders are placed. The new orders will be placed atomically in that they will all be placed or none will be placed. In the case where the new orders cannot be placed the cancellations will not be rolled back

I think the only place I know in BA where you can modify a bet is the unmatched bets list (could be wrong).

If you earned 1000 extra bets via £10 commish in the day, you are creditted such that you can have 3 hours with a 1500,1100 and a 1400 for instance. Spend them anytime in the day, but you don't need to earn them in that hour.

Manually, 1 click every 3.6 seconds ...you're slacking Derek :)

In Australia I have a few machine-gun bursts where I'm firing one a second, but fortunately there are lulls in between.

I've never checked to be honest but I'd be amazed if I ever exceeded 1000. Popping outside for the odd cigarette ain't so bad after all. :)
