Interesting stuff but looking at TF then for T1 Salacres Armani it says "Pup slow to get the hang of things. Inclined to miss the break." and forecast price is 5.0 (Decimal). It seems to suggest there are 2 other dogs (T3 and T6) who are better with lower forecast prices.

Not saying who is wrong or right here but be interesting to see which dog(s) shorten in price for this race etc.

This one worked really well this morning by splitting me trades up and drip feeding them in.

that seems to tally up well with the stats from the SportingLife website. It also tallies with your second take on LTB for Fieldview Chief as i can see that the low/high odds had a nice drift!

in short, if this is following a published strategy and folk are backing or laying these runners (as straight bets), then i can see no reason not to get involved. only caveat being the identification of the (fair/value) price ahead of the move. This facet, I think I've solved in part

I see Longsearch came down from 3.4 to 2.8ish at the off time. BUt I'm only logging data at the moment by price at 2min+, off time and rank. I've greyhound stuff running all the time so to add other strats in won't be a problem especially if they earn money

Nottingham 1:19 T6 went from a high of 6 to a low of 2.54.

Now i know what those letters and numbers mean.

U.K. - Top Grade - (A1 - A3) equilavent to American greyhound grades (A, B) and Australian grades (1, 2). Some 'top graders' may also compete in major race events and can average speeds around a track between 38-39 mph.

U.K. - Middle Grade - (A4 - A6) equilavent to American grades (C, D) and Australian grades (3, 3/4, 4). Occasionally 'graded runners' competing at the very best "city tracks" maybe the equal of 'A1' graded dogs running at perhaps lesser tracks. These hounds average speeds between 37-38 miles per hour.

U.K. - Low Grade - (A7 - A11) equilavent to American grades (E, F and Maidens) and Aussie grades (4/5, 5 and Maidens). Most dogs will begin or finish their racing careers in the lower grades and generally record speeds between 35-37 mph.

U.K. - B Grade - (B1 - B6) This grade prefix usually indicates to either a slightly shorter or longer middle-distance.

As for the OR classification, that means "open race" meaning it is the highest level of racing in the UK. This does not mean that it is open to any participant.

My thinking is that the time difference in the lower grade races where the dog is either starting or finishing its carreer is probably not as significant as the higher grade races.

I was joking, doubt it will make much difference as the original article on a punters website has been going for years. The time difference is important but there are also other factors plus you need to come up with a way of getting matched at the higher prices. That’s the key as there is no point jumping on when the price has already moved 20+ ticks. And as for laying if that does happen then that’s usually at less than 1 minute to post whereby races can get suspended and go off early leaving the trader stuffed.
