VAR ruling out of that Leicester goal is utterly, utterly ridiculous.
The guy has trouble hitting a barn door, now VAR is saying he's cunningly manipulating the ball with his arm as it drops over his right shoulder on to his left arm. It beggars belief. VAR is ruining football.
I haven't seen the event but VAR is not ruining football, it's the VAR operators and assessors. They should take the cricket approach, did the umpire/referee(s) make a reasonable error of judgement or were they unable to do so. If it's a 'half a boot' offside decision then no but if it's a Thierry Henry goal against Ireland on the blindside then yes. For example cricket works to 'half the ball' with LBW. If the umpire's decision was within half a ball's width of correct then the decision stands, it only gets reversed if the margin is greater.

Actually, I was wrong. By the letter of the new handball rules it was correctly ruled out.
"Any goal scored or created with the use of the hand or arm will be disallowed this season even if it is accidental. ". So, not VAR's fault, but a dumb rule change. But I realise that's a subjective view. :-)

I'm constantly confused by what is and what isn't in football, there sometimes seems to be little consistency in decision making. Maybe one thing VAR will do if used constructively will be to bring more consistency to the main decisions.

Urgent Announcement by the English FA

If the Corona Virus outbreak in the UK gets any worse, all remaining league & cup games will be played in empty stadiums to help halt the spread of the disease. Please note this will not affect Manchester City.

and "Tigers have torn us apart again". Is it irony or sarcasm, but whatever, for some reason I liked that?
For me, I'd love to see WBA and Leeds back in the Prem.

Just an fyi the 'you're getting mauled by the tigers' is a joke and not to be taken seriously

We were 150/1 to go down a month ago, looking close now, and we'd certainly be down without Bowen

End of the season type of performance for Liverpool, it's been coming for a while. They have nothing left to play for here, Klopp should have refreshed the squad a bit.

Should have lost last time as well but no Anfield to bail them out this time, but credit to Watford.

Reminded me of PSG that won their farmers league ridiculously early and then just didn't bother turning up anymore, producing all sorts of freak results, took them ages to clinch it mathematically iirc. Might see more of the same from Liverpool until the end, tasted defeat twice now so will be interesting to see how they react.
