Liverpool now 5 points behind Man City based on xGoals. They are of course good and worthy Champions but they aren't as good as their points tally suggests.

Best part of the week
Expected more banter on social media and everywhere tbh, don't be shy to get your licks in
Gary Neville delivered as usual.
Been a strange one, who knew that Liverpool's main title rival at this stage in the season would be coronavirus
Jurgen Klopp : "I see it rather positive. Because from now on we can play free football again. We don’t have to defend or try to get the record we just can try to win football games again.”
Can't argue with that one, that's the first thing us fans commented on after the game, can confirm that all those records every game were getting a bit annoying even to fans, as good as they sound they just add so much pressure, you feel like you're directly competing against all those great sides from the past, ruins a lot of the enjoyment from these games. As a fan I didn't at all feel confident going into any recent games away from Anfield, because I've felt the performance levels continuously drop.

That loss shunts the potential title-winning game to the game at Man City.Kai wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 2:29 pmExpected more banter on social media and everywhere tbh, don't be shy to get your licks inGary Neville delivered as usual.

Am I reading too much into it to believe the LFC players want to win the league at the home of the champions? Good luck with that!.
City are a wounded animal.....beware!!
That's a good point, it's another thing that I actually like about that defeat, as it felt inevitable at this point due to recent performances. I like that it denies Everton and City the chance to ruin the invincible streak, that would have felt very different.
Absolute VAR bullshit! De Gea was going the other way and would never have saved that. "interference" ? what a load of bollocks!!
Seen it multiple times now. VAR examine situations in slow motion, pixelated detail, but they can't see the stupidity of that decision?
Streuth! I give up! And don't give me 'line of sight'. That had nothing to do with it. De Gea was wrong-footed by a deflection. Simple!

Sure, just below it : https://www.soccerstats.com/halftime.asp?league=england
They never lost 2nd half at home and only once away so far.

As a Wolves fan, this is something I picked up on early in the season. It always takes around 20 minutes at home to build up momentum and even then, we never really get into 2nd gear until after half time when we are a totally different animal. Conceded a few times in the first half at the start of the season which led to unnecessary battles (a lot we clawed back to draws which gave us a steak in the first 5/6 games). If we make it to the second half, we have bossed some big games so there's plenty of opportunities from a traders' point of view.
Away from home we're slightly more defensive-minded, as every team is, but still the same core philosophy. Except today, what the hell? I was in London today - what a beautiful stadium - and what a game! I felt both Wolves and Spurs were far poorer than when we played each other at the Molineux, that was a true clash of titans in that game! Nevertheless, today was enjoyable. Liverpool lost there invincible run, Wolves won and Villa lost, I've had a great weekend

Sorry Greenmark but the rules of football are interpreted as what happened, not what would have happened. Whether that's right or wrong is the discussion. The method of interpretation is completely opposed to how horse racing is judged which is on a did it affect the outcome criteria. It's not VAR's fault, nor the ref's … it's the fault of those who dictate how the rules are interpreted. The invisible men in suits!greenmark wrote: ↑Sun Mar 01, 2020 3:54 pmAbsolute VAR bullshit! Was it this: "preventing an opponent from playing or being able to play the ball by clearly obstructing the opponent’s line of vision"?
If it was that rule I return to my rant about VAR being OCD to the width of a pixel but incapable of common sense interpretation of the rules in subjective situations.
Sigurdsson was not obstructing De Gea's view of the ball. De Gea spotted the deflection and was simply unable to get to the ball. Firlandsfarm you may well be right that the letter of the rule was observed I just think that the modifying of the offside rule to allow goals where the offside player has no impact was a good move. This was a situation where professional judgement/experience should have resulted in a goal.
This is only debate, by the way. Just me picking the brains of this great forum.
