Australian racing
First time trading the overnight Aussie racing, got up at 3am for the start of the group 1s. Got caught out in a couple of build up races but overall went well, best result at Kembla. Now for a bit more sleep before the delights of Irish racing...
Hi Naffman - if you don't mind, could you please 'unpack' this sentence?
You seem to have won a reasonable amount (OK total),
'but only 40% were losing markets'?
I'm curious about the strategy where you might say this. (No snark)
Thanks
No problem and as I read it back it is confusing as I was going to put 'only 60% were winning markets' but went the other way only to leave the 'only' in there which makes no sense

And now as I read that back I realise how many only's I've put

No real talk of calling it off that I've heard. Could all change in a moment of course but racing is such an institution here that the world will pretty much have to end before they pull up stumps.
That caught me out as well. I'm now 90.3% for the year at Rosehill.Naffman wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 10:57 amNo problem and as I read it back it is confusing as I was going to put 'only 60% were winning markets' but went the other way only to leave the 'only' in there which makes no sense![]()

I would think things will change in Oz in the next week or 2. It would appear they are on about that kind of timescale behind us in the UK.Dr_Zoidberg wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 11:25 amNo real talk of calling it off that I've heard. Breaking:
Victoria to shut down all non-essential activity
Victorian Premier Daniel Andrews has just announced that all non-essential activity will be shut down over the next 48 hours.
Here's the statement:
I will inform National Cabinet tonight that Victoria will proceed over the next 48 hours to implement a shutdown of all non-essential activity across our state to combat the spread of Coronavirus.
Listening to Tom Marquand on RTV just now and seeing the images from Australia of huge crowds at the beach etc online I think I may have been a bit generous saying up to 2 weeks.PDC wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2020 2:26 pmI would think things will change in Oz in the next week or 2. I would be surprised if this coming Saturday isn't the last Saturday for a good while, I wouldn't be surprised if we don't even get next Saturday now though.

Have you heard any news about aus dogs? From what I've seen they're as well (aka badly) attended as UK dogs so might be ok? And I'm assuming the industry funds these almost empty venues so a few bums on seats wouldn't be missed if it was behind closed doors?
