I'm carefully tracking the markets this week to see how they respond to UK racing coming back.

I'll only know by the end of the week in reality. Also, I need to decide whether to seasonally adjust it as turnover does drop as we exit the season.

I think doing a year on year comparison is probably best.

Wellington and Wyong are thinner and noisier than usual, with the new turnover limit. Will be interesting to see how Randwick trades on Saturday.

Been automating lots of Aussie racing recently and just been sent my first "turnover charge" email. I have a few questions for those experienced with these charges:
1) Is there a way of identifying NSW tracks easily on Bet Angel or is it a case of going through track by track and cross referencing manually vs a list?
2) Does the Turnover Charge apply to Harness racing also? I assume Greyhounds are not affected?
3) If i stop trading completely on NSW horse racing I assume this problem just goes away and I am not liable for any other Aus horse racing trading?

Thanks in advance for any answers or comments.

I can't answer you're first question but turnover charge does not apply to harness racing. I don't do the dogs but I'm pretty sure it doesn't apply to greyhounds.

There's no other charge that I'm aware of specific to Aussie racing (if there was I'd probably know by now) but you can trade no more than $6000 without incurring the turnover charge. Whether you're a manual or auto trader, it's tricky and possibly risky as you'd incur a 2.4% charge on turnover if you exceed the 6K limit, minimum of $144, but crucially no maximum.

Manual traders: remember that £1000 accidental click on the ladder that you quickly scratched? Now it costs £24. :)

Correct. Do as many dogs as you want. I think the wording refers to "thoroughbred" racing only.
