The shots on target/total shots, corners/blocked shots in combination with attacks( Dangerous) are all evidence of domination/momentum during the game in-play. If could of ended 0-0 or 0-1, but the probability would be very high.
Thanks for the explanation Wearthefoxhat I wasn't really questioning how people use the stats and how they can be interpreted, I was just making the point that if there were 2 shots on target and no shots were blocked then surely those 2 shots must have gone in the goal unless they were hit with such little effort that they stopped before crossing the line. Alternatively the shots were not on target. In a strange way it amused me. :)
Blocks and saves are two different things (as far as stats go at least). A block is made by a defender, a save is by a GK.

That's what I was expecting but there was no mention of saves!

The price on Soton has been coming out all day. What news on them or Norwich did I miss? Or just a standard price correction? I would disagree with it, if that were the case. Price correction, that is; Soton should be closer to last night's 2.32 than the current 2.66 imo.

Can't just be the Hojbjerg issue can it. Not when he's playing all the same.

Ridiculous decision with Cahill. Doesn't matter that 'he didn't mean it' it was a reckless, uncontrolled lunge, as was proved. Could have broken the guys leg. Jeez, VAR is such a pack of subjectivity. And probably corruption.

Don't think it was either, but it hould have been a yellow, though.

Ward should have gone for the tackle where he got a yellow. Tackle leading with studs showing, and over the top of the ball. Textbook red if there ever was one.

My point was Cahill DID make contact. Anyone that has played the game knows you put your foot behind the ball, if a defender flies in you jump out of the way (if you see it coming). Cahill went through the ball (and whatever was behind it) in a way I've not seen since the Premier League got all fluffy about Souness-like brutality.
Ward was reckless but did 'get' the ball but missed the player (or at least his leg, unlike Cahill). There was another tackle (sadly I cant remember who on who, was it Bournemouths Cook on a Palace player?), but the player got the ball, clean as a whistle and promptly got booked. Good to see the Premier League back with enough random refereeing to spark debate. Well my ire anyway!
Tell you what. I'll watch MOTD and see if I've lost my marbles :-).

Rats! MOTD only showed the Cahill foul.
But I'm even more convinced that would have been a straight red before the lockdown. It's uncontrolled and if King hadn't managed to get his weight off his leg, it was broken.
Reminds me of the Eduardo and Ramsay incidents. But, hey. what do I know? Night all!

Watching the first 15mins of Eve v Liv demonstrates the power of the crowd.
Without a crowd this game so far is quite lame compared to the usual passion and borderline gbh.
But I guess thats why its the most popular league globally.

Man United looking well too short, as the price is closing in on 1.40

I kinda get it. Shef United hasn't looked the team, they were pre-lockdown in the two matches so far. Still, it's a clear indication that the media had already started a Fernandes-is-United's-saviour frenzy before the lockdown, have had a good few months to build it, and the frenzy was done no harm with the Pogba-Fernandes axis looking decent at Spurs.

I do believe United will win, and backed them yesterday expecting the frenzy-price to come in, but I'm not having that price, and I'm flipping it looking for a slight reverse in the final hour before KO. It's still Ole at the wheel and they look like a school boy team in defensive transition.

I'm staying away from any football scores tonight, especially the Southampton Arsenal game... i'm just going to ignore the whole thing and pretend it never happened.
