Betfair SP's (again)

I have read a lot of complaints about the SP's on betfair. I was wondering if there is a trend with them. For example, if I am laying will the SP generally be more favourable than just taking a price during trading (I would guess not, otherwise everyone would be using it!). Are there any trends to when the SP is more favourable than the market?

i only use S.P as insurance to close my trades,
but never realy had a problem, some s.p odds are slightly better than expected some worst and it balances itself out over time.

all the time I used SP the price was actually worse or the same that I expected. So no winning "SP" ticks for me so far only sure matches.
