That has to be one of the greatest finishes in the history of Old Trafford!

I don't know about his boot sponsorship deal his shinpads are now worth a fortune!!! 9 out of 10 times he'd have to be fixing the glass in the corporate lounge as that could have gone anywhere
I'm only joking a super goal, the real skill though is Nani's cross. Although it was a bit behind Rooney which gave him a bit to do, but finished it well, he did.

Great goal although Nani's cross did take a slight deflection off the defender.
I think it's a shoo-in for goal of the season so I took Ladbroke's 7/4 which I thought was far too generous. Hope I'm right! (had been backed in to 5/4 and now looks like they've closed the book)

Whether it gets that accolade will depend largely on factors unconnected with the aesthetics of the goal itself IMHO.
For example, it might be felt that it would be better if the award were to go to an up-and-coming player who doesn't engage in controversial behaviour off the pitch.
I think it would be great if Hernandez got the award. Despite being a world-class talent who spends most of his time on the bench, he always gives 100%. It will be interesting to see if the same will be true of Didier Drogba in a few weeks' time!

I'm not a football fan, but that was class! Even for me who knows nothing about football.
