mmm Looks like they're having another go at the PL page.

Not showing the country code in the event name is a real pain in the ass. And an unecessary change, who'd actively NOT want it shown?

I wouldn't mind losing a feature to gain some but it's just getting more and more basic. If I could get a report in exactly the style I wanted, showing exactly what I needed, I'd pay the £50. As £/hr for the time I spend unpicking things it would be money well spent. I'm going to have to look into what account info the API can deliver, but then you're talking about another couple of weeks work dev and suprisingly I've got other things I'd rather be doing, like finding strategies to justify needing a PL in the first place! Tought knowing if this should be in rant corner or this thread

I'm all in favour of having today's P/L automatically shown without having to press the button. But surely they could do all this on a test database and get it working before going live?

I had a sinking feeling they were going to plough ahead with this. Less info in the market field equals an improvement is some sick logic, but should we expect anything else? Frustrating in the extreme.

might be worth asking liam (via Neil at betfair) if there's a rationale behind all of this...

I was going to start exporting my p&l directly to a spreadsheet along with the other stored values but I haven't yet figured out how to get the workbook to connect & save the data of each market onto either seperate sheets or workbooks.

I managed to connect it yesterday simply by running the automation (although it was all on 1 page) but today I'm at a loss of how to.

I've raised these issues with Neil and I guess I'm not the only one, so we'll see what he says. Country code was my #1 to be re-instated followed by the ability to skip to a specific page.

can fetch last 3 months inclusive which is cool (can see May 1st onwards while in July), but have to set the date ranges manually so you don't go over the limit

If they are altering let them alter it so doctoring them is more difficult

...more observations:
when exporting results to spreadsheet they've removed the empty row (previously row 2) and changed the data in columns B/C (start time/settled date) to actual date values (was previously just text values of dates)

And for Column D (profit/loss) the values are now stored as numbers (where previously just text values of numbers). Don't have to convert them before copy/pasting them elsewhere which is nice.

Concur with all above ...

Now having to cross-reference data due to lack of content on Betfair P&L. Headache !!!

I previously used a bookmarked profit-and-loss page so I didn't have to navigate all through Betfair's account section whenever I wanted to see P&L. A few hours ago they turned access to that page off so I've now just found the new page by going through the site the old-fashioned way.

Some grievances:

- Can no longer bookmark pages. I used to bookmark profit pages for the current month and current week as well as for other date ranges. To do this now requires me manually typing these dates each time, so I would likely rarely bother and lose the insight.
- The old page used to fit beautifully on a mobile device, but the new page is a sideways scroll-fest.
- The page can be really slow if you submit a large query, and there's no indication that the page is actually doing anything at all. So you find yourself either clicking the button again or changing an option. I've also noticed that if you submit two (or more) distinct queries in this manner, both are processed and load on top of each other which is even more confusing. I've a feeling that on slow or unreliable connections, these problems could become quite an issue.
- A lot of date ranges return nothing (I'm guessing the large amount of bets or markets triggers some form of error). It seems to happen if there are over 1,000 markets to return.
- The Enter key no longer submits the form after having manually typed in the dates you require.

Previously-mentioned irritants:

- Not being able to open markets in a new tab is going to make reviewing whole events from earlier in the day or week next to impossible. When reviewing a particular event, I like to middle-click to open all associated markets in new tabs (for example, Win, To Be Placed, Forecast, etc.) and compare between these. This is no longer possible.
- The pagination is a pain. If this is to be re-added in, it might be more useful as a drop-down rather than the old way of only being able to access the nearest 15 pages.
- The Back button/navigation should absolutely return to the previous page that the user was viewing.

The three above problems combined would actually stop me from reviewing bets bar those which are absolutely critical. It would be far too frustrating an experience. These irritants are going to disproportionately affect those who turn over a large number of markets.

I think overall it would be more helpful if Betfair first beta-tested these pages with long-term users like us, rather than just rolling out what they have, then taking it down, then re-launching, etc...

For anyone who is already in contact with Betfair, perhaps referring them to this thread might be helpful.

a very stupid change. thanks betfair. you are taking care as always about your customers. now that you removed the distance and type of the race you can remove the name of the course as well. leave the timestamp only or better leave /horse racing / only that would be enough. I am wondering who is generating so foolish ideas?

Just spent some time playing with the dates. It will display up to exactly 1000 markets. If the date period brings back 1001 or more then it returns only an error. It's as if whoever designed this thinks their customers all have 5 bets a week on the football or something.

Such a staggering disregard for their customer base.

I will pay well into 5 figures to Betfair in commission this year and what do I get for it? A creaking infrastructure, non-existent customer support, and IT "improvements" that may as well be designed deliberately to make my life difficult.

Is there some collective power Bet Angel has that we can leverage? Surely someone at Betfair must care what their biggest user-bases think?
