Its getting to the stage that we'll need wooden stakes and garlic to close this thread

What can a Democrat do that a Republican can't?superfrank wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 10:38 amFirstly, I think the Democrats probably secured enough votes to win without any shenanigans that may or may not have taken place.
But the left does have form with election fraud. Both here and in the US they favour and push postal voting because it benefits their side, even though it is open to abuse. The self-righteous mindset of those on the left (especially among activists) means that many can see fraud as justified - because they believe their politics are more moral (after all the other side are all racist, transphobic bigots).
Steve Baker MP writes here about how postal voting fraud happens in the UK and how it is much more widespread than people imagine...

They tend to have more activists on the ground and postal voting presents "opportunities".
That's a bit premature while the market's still open.Trader Pat wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 5:13 pmDerek let the thread die![]()

if postal voting *advantage* is such a huge thing, then the Repubkicans are either willfully missing a trick or skillfully editing the narrative...superfrank wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 5:41 pmThey tend to have more activists on the ground and postal voting presents "opportunities".
When was the last time a Tory knocked on your door? I can't remember the last time one knocked on my door, but every election I have to tell a leftie to piss off!
The proof is in the pudding. Labour and the Democrats are very much in favour of postal voting. The right, not so much.
Postal voting should be reserved for those who genuinely can't get to a polling station, e.g. some disabled people, those who live in the middle of nowhere. Everyone else should be able to drag themselves to a polling station every few years.

Sorry, haven't a clue what activists on the ground have to do with it and what "opportunities" you're talking about, especially opportunities that are only available to Democrats.superfrank wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 5:41 pmThey tend to have more activists on the ground and postal voting presents "opportunities".

Some postal voting fraudulent practices are described in here https://www.politicshome.com/thehouse/a ... nnot-go-on.
They are unverified reports and it still doesn't adequately explain why the left is more likely to be crooked. The fact that you spend more time on the streets may mean you have more opportunity to commit street crime, but that's irrelevant unless you're inclined to mug old ladies.superfrank wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 6:20 pmSome postal voting fraudulent practices are described in here https://www.politicshome.com/thehouse/a ... nnot-go-on.
It's activists that are behind it when fraud occurs. And the left have form for it in the UK, e.g. Tower Hamlets, Peterborough.
I can only assume similar opportunities for fraud exist in the US.
The Tower Hamlets election (in 2014) was declared void by a court and re-run. Hardly unverified.Derek27 wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 6:57 pmThey are unverified reports and it still doesn't adequately explain why the left is more likely to be crooked. There was no mention of TH in the article you posted and I don't know what the court uncovered about TH so I can't comment on that.superfrank wrote: ↑Wed Nov 18, 2020 7:02 pmThe Tower Hamlets election (in 2014) was declared void by a court and re-run.
