On the flip side he does still have the nuclear buttons for a few more days so if he get to bored he might start playing with them

The launch codes cannot be removed from the president.

Nope, the way its set up in the US is the President alone as sole and full authority to issue a launch.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 10:11 amThe launch codes cannot be removed from the president.

Anyone who refuses to carry out his instructions is breaking the law.
Of course you'd hope whoever is in that chain will break the law and refuse (then be pardoned and awarded a medal later)
But simple fact is if he orders it one or more people must break some of the highest laws in the land in order for the launch not to go ahead - crazy doesn't even cut it
I dont get the obsession with Trump having the codes... have people got some sort mental visual of Trump with a joystick swiveling it around, selecting country to country like some sort of Dr Evil scene. If he were to launch it would be a retaliation from someone else launching or on the advice of multiple Generals... he isn't just gonna finish his Weetos and think Fuck it let's take out the world.... and conspiracy theorists get mocked.

Given the fact that North Korea have stated yesterday that they are going to expand their nuclear capabilities then Trump might think, fcuk it, lets nuke em quick. Which ofcourse would cause retailiation from someone, plunging the world into chaos from a military, political and economic point of view.
North Korea is a threat we've all lived with for decades and so is the antagonising behaviour. There would probably be a platter of activity before nukes were launched, especially when its an expansion threat not a direct nuke launch threat... Iraq weapons of mass destruction rhetoric and then land and air bombarded. Given he's avoided starting new wars and his campaign was all about bringing troops home I'm not sure that's part of his agenda. Trump is all about some narrative of an internal war with deepstate, not external.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 12:01 pmYes.jamesg46 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 11:43 amI dont get the obsession with Trump having the codes... have people got some sort mental visual of Trump with a joystick swiveling it around, selecting country to country like some sort of Dr Evil scene. What will be interesting is how long will it take for the Biden administration to start a new war... we can start our countdown soon and one way of uniting American people could be to get them all behind a cause they all can unite over and take attention away from home... I'm guessing it won't be long before Biden hits North Korea and the election result is probably one of the reasons Kim is now ramping up his threats, he no longer has his buddy in America.

I was waiting for someone to mention Biden going to war. The Dems are known for it! All about the Oil and Opiumjamesg46 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 12:26 pmNorth Korea is a threat we've all lived with for decades and so is the antagonising behaviour. I guess only time will tell. It is interesting that the US haven't pursued any new wars whilst energy independent, further to that Joe plans to squash that industry in the US.... what's the cost to other countries for being green in your own.Realrocknrolla wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 1:39 pmI was waiting for someone to mention Biden going to war. Not necessarily. Military chiefs have made it clear that unlike most militaries, they don't swear an oath to a king or queen, president, dictator, nut job, etc. They swear an oath to defend four pieces of paper, as he put it. So if military commanders are ordered to do anything unlawful they can refuse. I'm pretty sure they will.Dallas wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 10:19 amNope, the way its set up in the US is the President alone as sole and full authority to issue a launch.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 10:11 amThe launch codes cannot be removed from the president.

His recent acceptance (people are calling it a concession!) that Biden is the next president has washed away most fears of that but had things panned out differently and he continued to boil over it would be very different. On the other hand, he might just be leading the country into a false sense of security before he starts firing off the nukes! After BJ's condemnation of his actions I think the UK will be first on the hit list.jamesg46 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 11:43 amI dont get the obsession with Trump having the codes... have people got some sort mental visual of Trump with a joystick swiveling it around, selecting country to country like some sort of Dr Evil scene. Didn't really follow politics in the 90s and before but Democrats like Obama and Clinton strike me as more measured when going to war. Trump was like a school bully who constantly threatened to use his might including wiping out North Korea, and Ronald Regan was the sort of guy, if he felt a fly on the back of his head he'd turn around and punch the person standing behind him.Realrocknrolla wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 1:39 pmI was waiting for someone to mention Biden going to war. I did a fair few tours and the yanks are nutters! They love guns, chocolate milkshake, McDonald’s and Jesus!
You would think BJ should know better but he's got a proven record to the contrary. What an absolute dick head he is... let's hope he doesn't have to face accountability, I'm certain fridge freezers aren't US proof.Derek27 wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 2:22 pmDidn't really follow politics in the 90s and before but Democrats like Obama and Clinton strike me as more measured when going to war.
