How's this for a constantly bad start!
Rubbish racing
I don't know how I'm trading either!hgodden wrote:I don't know how you're trading Rys but take a break mate then play it simple for a bit, that kind of run would be demoralising for anyone
I'm gonna go make a cuppa now! I had a bad start so I went in a bit big and made things worse, I guess I'm still struggling with my discipline.
I've been doing well recently as well. Oh well, I'll try and chip away at it, see how I get on.
Why not focus on doing whatever you did recently to turn things around? Odds are that as it worked last time, it will work this time too...rhysmr2 wrote: I don't know how I'm trading either!![]()

The markets yesterday felt so different, and today they do too, It must be the change to the flat season? I feel like I can't find the bottom or top of the market. Seems to be lots of big stakes kicking about, driving the prices further then usual.
I just need to get my head round these markets and adapt. Just need to do it quick so I can take advantage.
Well, I'm going to have to pack in for the day, another loss over £200 puts me about even for the week
It's unreal. Last week I made over 1k this week I'm about even.
My trading is so up and down, it evens out as a decent wage but I can't stand the lack of consistency.
I'm going to go check if I won the euro millions

Would you say the lack of consistency in your results is due to you not being consistent in your approach, or due to the markets?
If it's the former, then it's nothing that iron will combined with a bit of focus and relaxation won't fix!

Can you tell before you enter a market whether it's different to what you normally trade?
If so, why not simply give such markets a miss?

If I'm honest I would have to say it's mainly my approach. I'd like to blame the markets as the last couple of days have felt very different but at the end of the day I've made money in harder markets with a more disciplined relaxed approach.Ferru123 wrote:Would you say the lack of consistency in your results is due to you not being consistent in your approach, or due to the markets?
The last couple of days, because I've had bad starts, I've lost discipline. Using large stakes (over 1k) to recover my losses which didn't work and made things worse. It sounds ridiculously stupid I know but it's like I have a split personality and the idiot with the big stakes comes out and I can't stop him! at least he's stop going in play though!
It might sound ridiculously stupid if I hadn't been there myself...
Perhaps the key is just to convince yourself that such behaviour is ridiculously stupid and destroy all the excuses that your mind will throw up, so that next time you'll be able to say to the stupid part of your mind 'You can **** right off if you think you're going to blow a grand of my hard earned on that joke of a bet!'.
Trying to stay positive and using relaxation exercises can also help. I often lose lots of money with my gambling, but it generally doesn't bother me. I just see it as an occupational expense, and trust that, if I stick to what I know works, sooner or later luck will start smiling on me again. I'd have thought the same will apply to your trading...

It was good to watch the racing from Meydan in HD instead of the normal crap we get from ATR with their webcams!
I know C4 also offer HD so I hope others will follow suit? I'm not holding my breath though!
