It's one thing to have a bit of a laugh and another to be rude... 10 out of 10 for being the biggest arse wipe of the day.

Ok.
I evidently, unintentionally, offended you.
I apologise for my clumsy attempt at humour.
I wish you well.

Your original comment and your reply has played on my mind all day, being an arse wipe once certainly isn't the be all & end all of how I judge you... maybe me calling you an arse wipe in that moment isn't the be all and end all of how you judge me. I wish you well too... one interaction doesn't define future interactions.

Well, our conversation has played on my mind too. I apologise again for any offence i caused you. "I wish you well" is a Buddhist mantra. Not that I'm a Buddhist or any other religion. I just like that particular concept. It's a concept of meditation called Metta bhavana. Google it and make of it what you will.
Apologies again for my clonky wit.

FFS, stop apologising and being nice to each other. That's not what this thread's about. ;)

Lol. Derek27 not many of us can balance on the cusp of wit/offence like you.
I now see my behaviour as that of a serial wife-beater.
Violent, then profusely apologetic.
And repeat over and over again.
So my challenge is not to lose the plot and insult someone (three times I think).
Then I won't need to apologise. Simples!!!! :-)
I have come to the conclusion over the years that if I screw the same thing up 3 times I should step back and consider why I screwed up, and then do something about it.

Sage Professor John Edmunds says that lockdowns, masks and social distancing are lowering peoples natural immunities, so he expects a worse flu season this year, which may lead to more lockdowns, masks and social distancing

People with extremist views less able to do complex mental tasks, research suggests..

https://www.theguardian.com/science/202 ... dApp_Other

Researchers from the University of Cambridge sought to evaluate whether cognitive disposition – differences in how information is perceived and processed – sculpt ideological world-views such as political, nationalistic and dogmatic beliefs, beyond the impact of traditional demographic factors like age, race and gender.

was wondering where you sourced this as (altho maybe true), it flies at odds with what he said on the Andrew Marr show yesterday - a small section quoted here: https://www.standard.co.uk/news/uk/sage ... 20636.html

...just back from Epsom Racecourse where I received an AstraZeneca Covid-19 jab - very efficient service - received an invite on Saturday morning and landed a 'fastest finger' as I'd booked for 13:10 today within 30 seconds

Thought I'd better book for Monday in case I feel rough for a few days, and if so, should be OK by the weekend :)

Yes, he also confirmed on the Andrew Marr Show that the vaccine does indeed contain the Bill Gates mind-controlling microchip. ;)
