If a favourite in position 1 has order fixed at in-play, is that favourite then referred to in subsequent rules as
- 'nominated in position one (in order of favouritism)
- in Guardian nominated position 1
- in row 1 by Betfair order
- current (in row 1 BF order)
and all the other numerous, confusing options in the menus?

Is there an understandable manual or instruction set anywhere?
Taken a week trying to do some simple automation.
Online manual is written by experts for experts.
Peter's videos - well, lets face it, they are just disguised marketing when it comes to automation - automation is so simple (apparently)!
Dallas may as well be talking in Hindi for all I can understand of what he says.

Great first post errolc.
Dallas has been for many years now a well respected and helpful member of this community especially for novices taking their first steps in automation. This might help:

Hey Errol, I have a great bit of advice.....forget Automation for a second.

The first you need to understand is Peter and Dallas give enormous amounts of help and advice here

If you go down the path of dissing them on your first post, then I predict you have personal issues and your trading career will be shortlived

From the manual
"Fix the Order of the Market Selections - Normally every time the market prices are updated, Bet Angel sorts them in order of favouritism ready for use with the 'by position' option of choosing a selection. This rule type stops the sort, so that the order of position by favouritism and Betfair row index is fixed from the point the rule is triggered onwards".
So if you apply fixing then it will be position 1. If the favourite order changes then your initial selection will still be by row 1

Again disagree.
Peter isn't on hand with toilet paper to wipe everyone's rear ends just because they're struggling. And automation can take a little bit of getting used to if your new to Betfair and the terminology used.

ok, i think we all make (stupid) mistakes for time time. I'm sure the OP will see the clumsiness and address it. hopefully tho', there have been some good pointers added in the meantime.
