It's hard to be critical when he's took us to a world cup semi and euro final back to back but he let the game get away from us in the second half. Grealish should have been on that pitch before the equaliser. But I hate to nit pick like this. Two goals conceded all tournament and no losses in normal play. You can't ask for more than that of any team

Yeah too conservative for me, he took too long to make those changes like you say.Morbius wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 11:10 pm

Donnarumma was immense in that shootout, he just stood his ground until the very last second. Pickford was good too, narrow margins.
Italy played well also and on balance deserved it. After the first 30 minutes or so we couldn't get out of our half. Only one team looked like scoring. We did come to life a bit in extra time but yeh Italy were worthy winners.Morbius wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 11:10 pm

I think nearly all did with the exception of Sterling, Hendo, and the tall stocky guy, coulda been Mings. Must be soul destroying going up to get runners-up medals but it allows the crowd show their appreciation.
Because it's a stupid new thing that players do Derek which started around 5 years ago. It angers me that. The young kids copy it with this I'm not satisfied with any result but winning gesture.. Losing should be done with grace and humility

Taking off the medal is classless. Suck it up and move on. Southgate missed that penalty in 96 and look at what a magnificent manager he has become and how he has united your country.
Well done on getting this far.

Of course it's soul destroying but the UEFA guy could at least have smiled at them and give a pat or handshake instead of looking as if he just wants to get rid of them so he can hand proper medals to the winners.Dublin_Flyer wrote: ↑Sun Jul 11, 2021 11:16 pmI think nearly all did with the exception of Sterling, Hendo, and the tall stocky guy, coulda been Mings. +1
I hate to see it in every final nowadays.
My condolences guys for losing the penalty lottery, reminds me of the World Cup final which felt like shit for me but this was probably much worse.
Chiesa player of the tournament for me, could watch him all day.
