If the rules were that all losing bets are refunded if an event is affected by an outage, I'm sure they'd be far fewer of them.onemichael wrote:So what happens now, under the rules?
What ever happens won't make up for the nerves I went through watching the race. At the horse didn't win unlike on other outages!

Just got logged in there, but 1400 Wolv market suspended - what do you all think... day off? Oh just as I type market active again....
Just before the first race I lost all the power in the office. I quickly headed home but then the power went their as well so I headed out into the car and logged in on 3G but Betfair was down! Just got back behind my desk and got everything up and running again as usual but it's been quite a start to the week.

Two months ago I had few assumptions on what is going on in BetFAIL company:

I am afraid that scenario number 2 is the right answer. So, this will be long, long process... Dilettantes!

What hell happened? my 7k gone ... I close my position several times in profits>>> jes ...
I have 7k missing from my account

The API started returning junk information on the matched and unmatched bets just before the last race at Dundalk was due off. I always have a non API version of Bet Angel running so I can exit quickly and cleanly, that was returning the correct data so it was definitely an API related issue.

IF I DONT GET MY MONEY BACK I WILL TAKE LEGAL ACTION against betfair. I HAVE the log which prove I TOOK the SP then BETFair started to place bets on its own causing me a huge loss of 7k.
I hope this bs won`t sleep well tonight.

I felt sick..sorry to reply late.. £6,380 are back to my account... I have 620 still missing... I can see on profit loss that I backed REGRESA AMI 540+40+40 in play. I did not place any of this bets my self. I closed my position using the SP. I saw 7k flashing IN RED on all horses until the market was closed..I will let you know if betfair reply...good night.

Here's one way...
You will want to have two BA instances open...(one in API, one in non API) so you can either have them both on one PC or (ideally) separate PC's (maybe one on a fully charged laptop with 3G access...that way = no single point of failure)
The non API needs to be in Mode 1 (non API)
If you do have them both on the same PC, install the second BA instance in its own directory (Not sure if support recommend it but you could run both at once (I've done this many times) (also make sure the combined data reqs <20).
Probably better to untick the refresh button on the second standby instance, that way you can have your standby on 18/19 req/second.
Regards
Peter
PS I still have my laminated sheet on the wall with TAN numbers, main tele number too
