Edited: 29th Sept to release beta 2
Edited: 12th Oct to update download links ready for general release.
We have tested this in alpha over the last few weeks and any bugs found have been fixed. We feel itโs ready for beta release to the community ahead of its formal public release next month.
As with all betas, please gain confidence with the version before using full stakes. If you spot any issues, please post them to this thread.
In this version we have added support for Stored Values to hold text, added custom display columns to Watch List Coupons, allowed custom column cells to change colour based on value, added support for an Alert to show a Stored Value, now allow Betfair SP bets to be placed via Excel/Automation and moved the embedded browser from Internet Explorer to Microsoft Edge. In addition to this, a number of customer ideas and suggestions have been implemented. All changes are detailed below.
Features of v1.57.0
Automation
- 'Store a value as text' has been added to the Stored Values tab.
- Values can be entered text, formatted from existing numeric Stored Values, or sourced from various known text about the market/event/selection (e.g. jockey name). Any combination of up to 3 of these can be concatenated into one value and prefix/suffix text can also be added.
- Various formatting, rounding, extraction, truncation options are available.
- A Text SV can be tagged with a numeric value that, when present, will be used by the One-click screen when sorting the column. It will also be used to control the display colour when used in conjunction with Value Based Colouring.
- The Automation Editor now supports right-click copy & paste for Stored Values and Conditions
- Text Comparison condition has been enhanced to allow comparison against a Selection Name and Text held in a Stored Value
- Fill or Kill Condition has been enhanced to allow the time parameter to be specified as a Stored Value
- 'Set Stored Values using a file' now supports the setting of a Text SV (put the value in quotes to denote that the value is text rather than a number)
- Also Market Id & Selection Id can be used instead of Market Name and Selection Name in the file. See example CSV in the templates folder
- Set Stored Value and Stored Value condition has new options for getting 'Matched Bet information of a selection' and 'Matched Bet information of the market':
- - 'The average price' of all your matched bets / all your matched Back bets / all your matched Lay bets
- - 'The total amount' of all your matched bets / all your matched Back bets / all your matched Lay bets
- - 'The total liability (for the layer)' of all your matched bets / all your matched Back bets / all your matched Lay bets
- The Alert rule type has new parameters to allow the contents of a Stored Value (either numeric or text) to be displayed as an Alert in the log/in a message/in Guardian/on a Watch List
- New rule types to 'Place a Back SP Bet' and 'Place a Lay SP Bet' with support for price limits on the parameters page. Note: SP bets are considered by betfair to be matched as soon as they are placed and cannot be cancelled, so you should be familiar with their behaviour on the web site before using them.
Value Based Colouring
- Custom Columns and Ladder Additional Info items now allow both text and background colours to be specified (previously just one colour was allowed) and both colours have the option to select a Value Based Colour profile.
- A few example colour profiles have been provided, but the concept is that you define your own named profile with the editor provided.
- Up to ten different colours can be assigned per profile with different value thresholds.
- Colour gradients are also supported so you could gradually intensify the colour as the price changes.
- e.g. Outsiders could be grey, and then runners could be coloured from yellow through orange and red as they become stronger favourites.
- As you can define your own thresholds, you can assign values appropriate to your own Stored Value based weightings or percentages
Excel
- Added support for the new Text Stored Values
- when using the command to assign a value just provide the value in quotes and it'll store the value as text rather than a number
- New commands to place betfair SP bets: BACK_SP / LAY_SP / BACK_SP_LIMIT / LAY_SP_LIMIT
- Note: the odds cell is only applicable to the _LIMIT commands and is used to specify the minimum/maximum price for Back/Lay respectively
Watch List
- Watch Lists now support custom columns for information display (configured via Coupon editor) and offer similar options to the custom columns in Guardian
- Each of the two Header cells in a column, and the block of Selection cells, can be defined separately and used to display different information
- The order and width of the columns is configurable and can be placed on either side of the in-built Alerts column.
- When using multiple panels in the coupon, the choice of which of the defined custom columns to display can be made on a panel by panel basis.
In-play Trader
- New option to Reverse the x-Axis scale and also support reverse mouse clicks e.g. 'Left-click Lay, Right-click Back'
- New sort options to Sort by Stall Draw & Sort by Saddle Cloth Number
Other changes
- The browser embedded into Bet Angel will now use Microsoft Edge if the Edge runtime is detected on the PC and the PC is running at least .NET 4.7.1
- Note: Bet Angel as a whole requires at least .NET 4.6.2
- Keyboard Shortcut editor - Added new options to sort ladders by Custom Rankings
- One-click custom columns - when allowing a Stored Value to be edited, now given the choice of 'Edit as a number' or 'Edit as text'
Changes for v1.57.0 beta2
- Popup Countdown window is now resizable to help with variations of frame sizes in Windows
- 'Starts with' and 'exact match' options added to Text Comparison condition
- Fixed a bug found when calculating the range values from History Lists stored at the Market level (as discussed by Dallas in another thread)
- Fixed a bug in the Automation Editor where the chosen selection was being cleared when first configuring the page to calculate a stored value from a range of values
