Betfair has taken from my account 400£ on voiding bets the next day.

A place to discuss anything.

Betfair took £2k from my account yesterday in a fix from a market last week. No warning or communication, it just suddenly disappeared. Then of course they still took their full Premium Charge today based on the £2k winnings from last week leaving me hundreds of pounds extra out of pocket.

Thanks Betfair.
Any more details on this?

What details are you after? I've not bothered to raise the issue with BF CS because; 1) it would be a waste of my time, 2) I estimate 0% chance of any reconciliation, 3) it will make no difference in the long run as the extra PC paid will be mitigated against future PC owed from future profit.

I wish people wouldn’t publish this bull when they can’t be bothered to contact BF customer services! I have no idea of the rights or wrongs or reasons. I might as well say Lloyds took £5k from account. They haven’t but it is equally meaningless.
Ps I don’t visit the forum much, but this post just reminds me why I don’t!

Perhaps you have not been unfortunate to suffer the customer journey experience that this would involve.

I can tell you exactly how it would go:

Day 1:
>5 mins playing 'beat-the-bot' on Live Chat to try and get put through to a real person.
>5 mins waiting for a rep to come online.
>10 mins back and forth trying to explain multiple times why this is an issue greater than just that of "sorry but this market was resettled". There is more than a fair chance at some point during this exchange I will be asked what a 'Premium Charge' is.
>2 mins for the rep to confirm they have escalated my query and I will receive an email within 24 hours.
>3 days waiting for an email to arrive.
Day 4:
>5 mins playing 'beat-the-bot' on Live Chat to try and get put through to a real person.
>5 mins waiting for a rep to come online.
>2 mins for the rep to apologise and confirm that they will re-escalate my issue. I will definitely receive an email within 24 hours.
.2 days waiting for an email to arrive.
Day 6:
>5 mins playing 'beat-the-bot' on Live Chat to try and get put through to a real person.
>5 mins waiting for a rep to come online.
>5 mins for the rep to confirm they can see that my case has been marked as concluded and sorry there is nothing they can do.

If I'm really lucky then in return for my suffering they may offer me a £5 free bet for my inconvenience.

Every forum must appear horrendous if you focus on the posts you don't like or only get the urge to reply to them.

I've got used to it now but in the early days I'd hit boiling point before I even got through to a real person.

I can understand why you're not pursuing it. I'm guessing, if the money was won one week and taken back the other, and if it registers on their system as profit and loss rather than revised transactions you'd probably have an uphill struggle and need to get through to somebody higher up who really knows what he's doing. :)

I'm sure it will just net off against next week's charge. Or at least I was sure before you put that idea into my head...

If what I suggested is correct (I've no idea if it is) then it should net off next week or over time because your lifetime PC will go over your threshold, whatever % you pay, thus reducing or eliminating next week's PC.

void bets due to late suspension is a good thing overall , we trade using the api and we have money stacked at prices all over the market we dont really want for someone to hoover all the money because he saw the goal before betfair did

what i do if i see that betfair was late on suspending the game and people going crazy buying and selling after the goal is treat the matched bets as voided and not closing with any loss or profit , 90% chance is they will void the bets after the game is finished or the next day

just dont buy or sell when you see a goal and betfair didnt suspend the game on time it is not free money and as some people stated above you get void the back bet and end up with a running lay bet and a big loss

it is what it is , there is no better altrernative than betfair out there, other bookies or exchanges closing your account if you winning money or closing your positions on the market makers

never put money on the market that you cant afford to lose

TOP TIP: if you hold on and waste another 30 minutes saying that '£5 is really not enough', you might get a £10 free bet!

You missed the bit where you do actually get an email, but it provides wrong information, but you can not reply to said email, as they no longer accept email replies, so you have to start the whole CS "experience" again. Quickest way to the madhouse.

All this complaining about Betfair Customer Service......I'd strongly recommend contacting them through Twitter DM's

My experience of using Betfair through Twitter is superb, no complaints at all

...fine if you want to have a market added or something so simple - no good when someone has settled a market incorrectly as you cannot contact said person directly - you can only communicate with a twitter agent who simply passes on info.

That's bollocks.
Have you dealt with them, or are you just guessing?

This week I was trying to withdraw £500 to my bank account, but it bounced back saying there was a problem.
The money was taken from my Betfair account, but I didn't know what happened, so I spoke to BF on Twitter.
They initially said the banking details were wrong, but I said that's crap as my card is stored, so I never entered anything.
I then deposited £10 into Betfair using the same card, just to see for sure
BF came back and said there was a problem their end for 2 minutes with withdrawals not being processed properly. They sorted it out, I withdrew £510 and they gave me a £15 free Sportsbook bet
