Derek, doesnt this approach (backing over 1.5 and under 2.5 at the same time) significantly reduces potential profits? I guess one needs to find when the markets decay at different rates...thepressure wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 9:47 amHi, so you're effectivly hedging you're bet by say betting on over 1.5 but under 2.5 ? For example ?Derek27 wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 6:16 pmBreakeven is the start of the road to profits.MobiusGrey wrote: ↑Wed Jan 19, 2022 6:14 pm
Hadn't considered trading 2 o/u markets, I think that's for a little further down the road though but definitely worth thinking about. At the moment I'm still honing my skills on the first unders and getting in and out with my profit. I've picked up a little profit today but generally it's been breakeven on most matches which is absolutely nothing to sniff at, break even is as good as a win in my book!![]()

Not quite. I trade both markets independently and may switch the profit from one side to the other, but I would avoid backing under 2.5 and under 3.5 at the same time. A goal would be quite costly. Backing an under when you've got a free bet on the other over is a safe place to be because your loss on one can be eliminated by the other.thepressure wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 9:47 amHi, so you're effectivly hedging you're bet by say betting on over 1.5 but under 2.5 ? I've found you can also apply this approach to the CS market too, there are certain scores that will decay in a similar way to U/O up to a certain point, by creating a free bet on one score you can then shift this around to other scores.Derek27 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 2:29 pmNot quite. Same approach is required though, I've noticed without watching live pictures and simply by watching the ladder you can get a feel for if one team is looking like they may score just based on price action and where the money is appearing/vanishing quickly.
I've just asked Betfair to unsuspend the Kayserispor v Hataspor o/u markets. I was going to tell them that the Sun's diameter is 864,938 miles if they asked for more information but surprisingly they said they're already looking into it. Needless to say, they waited for a goal before they unsuspend.

Isnt the CS market the most illiquid market going in reality though on most games.
Espeically when you get to lower leagues.

Why do they often wait for a goal before unsuspend? And it does tend to happen often in Turkish matches. Insider trading?Derek27 wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 5:27 pmI've just asked Betfair to unsuspend the Kayserispor v Hataspor o/u markets. Hatayspor: reasonable team for Turkish League standards, but atrocious away from home. Kayseri were deservedly considered favourites by the market. Looks like Trabzon might run away with the title this year, finally.
It may be the monkey responsible for suspending the match not paying attention, or perhaps they're doing it deliberately, to encourage more wins and losses, and consequentially, commission.On_The_Edge wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 10:24 pmWhy do they often wait for a goal before unsuspend? Probs the wrong place, but Its a quickie, why does Soccer Mystic not work on a lot of matches, and does it just use a basic formula for every match or is every prediction tailored to those specific teams as opposed to Away team score equalizer in 60th min or something?
My understanding is that the algorithm requires the prices from other markets for the event, and some of the more obscure matches don't have the required markets.thepressure wrote: ↑Fri Feb 04, 2022 11:07 pmProbs the wrong place, but Its a quickie, why does Soccer Mystic not work on a lot of matches, and does it just use a basic formula for every match or is every prediction tailored to those specific teams as opposed to Away team score equalizer in 60th min or something?
