I think he's counting on the storm to dispose of it. I'm half-minded to attach a label with his name and address on it.
Don't forget the blow up sex doll :D

The prospect of evil Putin ordering an invasion on Ukraine from 3 sides makes me sick to my stomach.

The prospect of a raving lunatic in command of the largest nuclear arsenal in the world is even more worrying. Sky News is questioning whether his long isolation due to covid has had an effect on his mind.

There's either been a lunatic in the Whitehouse or the Kermlin or both since the Cuban missile crisis. There's a lot of political capital to be gained by hyping all this... on both sides... so I'm not hoarding beans just yet.

I would dispute that Gorbachev was a lunatic.
But I think this situation has risen from Russian paranoia. Nato have been conducting military excercises in Ukraine and Putin is sending a warning.
The counter argument is Ukraine/Crimea is a long disputed territory, a bit like The Falklands, Israel even Northern Ireland. These disputes are deeply entrenched. Lets hope this one is just posturing for political gain.

Shaun alluded to the Kremlin or the white house, where Ronald Regan was at the time. :)

Rats! Hoist on the petard of poor comprehension. "Or" isn't the same as "and" is it?
You'd think 25 years in IT would have taught me that!
Had a colleague that reckoned Reagan's apparent stupidity was all an act to deflect attention from what he was really trying to do. Not sure about that, Reagan scared the crap out of me.

There was a newspaper cartoon following the bombing of Libia of Regan killing a wasp, with the caption, that wasp will think twice before antagonising peace-loving Americans. :)

Lol I can almost hear that statement through the lens (headphone?) of the Spitting Image rendering of Reagan at the time. Superb satire - a charmingly bumbling, fluffy, nutter with his finger on the red button.

I'm not surprised Putin invaded but I thought he'd only invade Donbas. Its going to be very difficult to keep control of the entire country. Probably all a tactic to force Ukraine to turn over Donbas.

It highlights just how weak the world community is though. The Americans are faffing about with sanctions that obviously don't scare Putin and the Europeans are an even bigger joke. They seem incapable of doing anything unilaterally and need the Americans to hold their hand at every turn.

Whether you love or hate Putin he's one of the worlds most capable leaders. American presidents have been a laughing stock for a while now and Obama's sanctions after Crimea weren't even a slap on the wrist. European leaders aren't much better; The German leader is seemingly invisible, Macron tried to act as mediator and was humiliated by Putin and the less said about Boris Johnson the better. They're your three European super powers who are led by people not up to the task of international diplomacy or much else by the looks of it.

Looks like we're heading into a new age of the strongman. China will be watching closely so watch out Taiwan

I think your right Pat. Western leaders are a joke on the world stage. In comparison ranked Modi, Xi, and Putin.
Just one example China & Russia waited patiently for coalition forces to retreat from Afghanistan so they could exploit the vast lithium and coca reserves. But more importantly continue with the BRI, China's mega project one belt one road bringing east to west ....

And you may recall recent offshore Russian naval exercises off the Irish coast. They are also proactive in support of China in the south china sea probing into international waters.
