Is there a maximum number of Guardians one account can run simultaneously across multiple computers? I seem to get to 10 and then markets on the 11th refuse to refresh.

It's 10 by default if you have an API key, or maybe 20 if they think it's worth their while. I'm not sure if you're using the BA commercial licence but certainly looks like 10 from what you've said. You might find you hit a limit of 200 subscribed markets too but that's per connection.jamesedwards wrote: ↑Mon May 02, 2022 2:38 amIs there a maximum number of Guardians one account can run simultaneously across multiple computers? Thanks. What do you mean by 200 subscribed markets? What counts as a subscribed market?ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Mon May 02, 2022 4:13 amIt's 10 by default if you have an API key, or maybe 20 if they think it's worth their while. Well under the surface software instructs BF what markets to put in your stream, its not just sending price info for anything and everything all the time. That's most efficient if you specify a country & sport & market type(s) rather than a big list of individual events. So when you add dogs (win & place) to the subscription, you'll be sent info on the next 200 markets (100 races) but as soon as one closes that gives space for market 101 to come through. Its only really an issue if you're trading races hours ahead.
Footy is the tricky one with so many markets occurring at exactly the same time.

There's lots here I am oblivious to.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Mon May 02, 2022 2:05 pmWell under the surface software instructs BF what markets to put in your stream, its not just sending price info for anything and everything all the time. What do you mean by "the subscription"? What counts as a "subscribed market"?
I trade 8 different types of football markets with each on its own Guardian and each one cycling up to 600 football matches, so up to 4,800 markets in total at any given time. Every one of those 4,800 will update every minute or so. If they are all updating does that mean they will all trigger where rules apply? Or are there limits that will stop triggers from occurring when the should?
The points Shaun raised are regs that apply to standard API user writing their own software.
BA will have a different agreement with BF as to what is allowed for standard BA users and the only one that seems to be impacting you is the 10 connection limit.
I would talk to BA support and see if they can ask BF to increase your username connection limit - they should know who / how to contact to do this - on the API side it seems to be just a simple setting per BF user account usually changed on request.

I can't really comment on how BA is written or the differences between having your own api key or using the one that BA uses. I just recgonised your issue with >10 connections matching the default I've seen. A "subscription" is just jargon for the way to tell an api what you're interested in, that could be all dog races for the Betfair api, or a specific video if it's the YouTube api.
I'm guessing support will step in and tell you what's what after the holiday.
