I became a party member, so hopefully i get to vote when it comes down to just 2.

I've just reviewed it, it was the "Johnsonian brass neckary" jibe, referring to Sunak claiming the economy needs rebuilding.sionascaig wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 9:07 amHe was having a go at the current chancellor who allegedly benefits from a £100m offshore trust & javid - the bus drivers son - who had non-dom status as well as the ex-chancellor...Derek27 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 9:03 pmWell, at least we can carry on cracking jokes about him. I didn't get Starmer's joke today but it got a few laughs and glum faces from the other side so I must have been good.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Wed Jul 13, 2022 7:19 pm
A couple of senior MP's hinted that he may be offered a position in Government.![]()
I was more amused that the PM4PM website was registered in 2019, Penny(?) also registered NZ4PM so that site directs you to hers, also registered suellas.
Must have been a right Thick of IT moment in campaign HQs when they discovered that..

It's quite awkward for the candidates who had a key part in this government. They talk, as candidates usually do, about how they're going to get out of the mess we're in without realising it's an admission to the mess we're in and that they along with Johnson got us there.

How much does it cost to join the party and don't you have to be a member before a specified date to vote?Archery1969 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 9:38 amI became a party member, so hopefully i get to vote when it comes down to just 2.![]()

It’s £25 per year for membership. Didn’t look at the date part, never mentioned it on the site. They emailed me my membership number via email and text message. Supposed to get all the documentation within 3 days.Derek27 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 3:16 pmHow much does it cost to join the party and don't you have to be a member before a specified date to vote?Archery1969 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 9:38 amI became a party member, so hopefully i get to vote when it comes down to just 2.![]()
Mainly looking forward to all the free food and drinks at Tory party events so I can have some cake and be sick up the walls.

At least the UK is not the only country in the shit. Looks like Italy's government is about to collapse.

Not entirely. Covid, China's zero covid strategy and Ukraine also played a big part. The 'mess' was the result of an arrogant and undisciplined regime. The starring govt policy was our approach to vaccines. And that can't be underestimated or denounced by saying "well any other govt could have done that". It was an important moment of excellent govt. And the support that Rishi (or was is Boris) put into the economy was also vital (literally).Derek27 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 1:29 pmI've just reviewed it, it was the "Johnsonian brass neckary" jibe, referring to Sunak claiming the economy needs rebuilding.sionascaig wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 9:07 amHe was having a go at the current chancellor who allegedly benefits from a £100m offshore trust & javid - the bus drivers son - who had non-dom status as well as the ex-chancellor...

I shall be watching the progess of the "levelling up" like a hawk. Is it a charter for reduction of standards or a genuine attempt "level up" and address the London-centric approach previously.

The 3 TV debates, Tomorrow, Sunday, Monday should be good entertainment.Derek27 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 14, 2022 9:53 pmShe's supporting Liz. I think we can safely say Bad'en will be out next.
