I used to think a cesspit was my old bedsit, at least that's what people called it. :)

I just got a text from my GP surgery asking for feedback from today's appointment. They don't send a text reminding me to turn up to it!!

Septic tanks ferment and clean themselves eventually discharging clean water either to ground or to a waterway such as a stream. Looked after and, provided bacteria destroying chemicals aren't poured in the system, they don't need emptying for donkey's years - only when they go wrong.

Cess pits are just storage tanks and need emptying when full or they just overflow - usually onto the patio it seems !

Lived in a house with a septic tank for over 30 years and it had been installed 30 years before we moved in - no sewerage rates
So what type is the telephone box in the high street ?

How can a company director have the audacity to appear on TV defending a 2% pay rise, wearing a flipping jumper - in August??

Shows how out of touch they are!

Sensitive subject and I'm not diminishing the loss of a 9 year old but do we really need these sort of taglines form the Beeb.
"Liverpool shooting: Murder arrest over Olivia Pratt-Korbel's death".
How about "Man arrested in investigation of shooting of Olivia"?

I assume Trump realises that a "trump" in the uk is a fart! If not, someone that doesn't fear for their future should tell him.

2 cm of ginger? Is that 2 cm of the part that's 2 inches thick or the pointed part?

If you can't explain, or even give an approximation of how much ginger is required, don't write a flipping recipe!!

Went to the opticians with a voucher from the job for prescription safety glasses. Hadn't been to an opticians since around the time the pandemic started in Europe in early 2020. Way more in depth examination than I expected, prescription has gone waaay bad and I've been referred to an ophthalmologist because I've a shitload of glaucoma symptoms :(
On the bright side, I could still see the optician chick had massive tits :P

Baking is science, cookery is art, apparently. Nice and fresh then a piece as big as your thumb (assuming most thumbs are similar in the land of pedantry), if its been knocking around for ages then who knows. Is it your dinner or a cold cure :D
