When I heard Truss has sacked her trade minister following a complaint I just assumed he's done something pretty bad and owned up to it. Now I hear that he's furious that he's been sacked without being given a chance to explain/defend himself!

I understand it's natural to assume that Tory MPs accused of wrongdoing are guilty, even those that aren't accused are probably up to no good, but everybody should have a fair chance to respond to complaints. Truss could be making a big mistake in her haste to show she's not like her disgraced and incompetent predecessor.
I read that and instantly assumed he got absolutely hammered at the party conference and touched up someone...... or was witnessed/caught on camera saying something racist/anti-semitic which would make his position as trade minister very weak.

Maybe Greenpeace took him out

If Truss wants to understand growth she needs to read our gardening thread.

He touched a man's thigh!!!

I've touched a boy's thigh before in the old rugby scrum. Bum or genitalia would sound serious but thigh requires more information. Front, back, inside or outside, how long and was his hand moving?

I'm normally delighted when a Tory MP is in the shit, but if he's cleared of any wrongdoing, the PM's in the shit, or perhaps I should say, even deeper in it. :D

He claims he still hasn't been told why he was sacked or what the complaint was. I assume any Tory MP accused of a crime or rule-breaking is guilty but after about 10 seconds, I realize even Tory MPs should be treated fairly, just like anyone else. It seems their own leader doesn't. :)

She doesn't think before she speaks, doesn't think before making drastic tax cuts that could (and did) crash the economy, she could be on a hattrick. :D

I thought Priti Patel was a bit crazy but her successor seems to be upping the ante

Smoking and drinking costs the NHS £9 billion a year in health related issues. Far more than cannabis.

None of the cannabis users I've known have been offered harder drugs by their dealers. Perhaps youngsters might be as they're easier targets and curious about stuff. Still say I would prefer to socialise with someone stoned rather sloshed.
Braverman suits the Truss profile perfectly. Horrible and promising things she can't deliver.

Liz Truss has asked me why I’m more popular than she is. I pointed out that wasps are more popular than she is.

Zahawi says the Tories will always be on the side of struggling families but still can't say if UC will keep up with inflation. Then they wonder why they're sinking in the poles.

Sturgeon's performance on Kuenssberg highlighted how awful Truss is. The comparison was like a stateswoman compared to a blundering idiot.
I'm getting closer and closer to moving to Scotland.

I remember in 1997 The Sun switched to supporitng Labour. A few months after Labour won a landslide victory in the general election. I wonder will we see similar conversions before the next GE
