This recent picture confirms what Derek said about outdated weapons.

These are new recruits, those AK47's are not made anymore and look about 40 years old.

They look a very fit bunch but then looking at their commander he wont go hungry over winter. He obviously likes pork pies and the odd can of beer.

While its part funny, those guys wont stand much of a chance.

There's also a video of the commander eating pork pies and drinking beer. :D

With respect that isn't a reference.

Sergei Lavrov claims Ukraine is intending to use a dirty bomb. That's usually a pretext of what Russia's planning!

US 101st Airborne Troops (Nickname Screaming Eagles) deployed to Ukraine border.

No reason given.

Update.

First time they been deployed to Europe. Press says they practising for war with Russia 2 miles from Ukraine border. Russia has responded saying it’s the gravest of provocations ever towards Russia by the USA.

I've read they have many funny names and not much respect in their homeland.

20 years ago when I used the toilet on a train and the guard knocked on the door, I'd come out leaving a cubicle full of smoke but still denied smoking. That's more or less what Russia does now. :)

BBC reporting that Russia is preparing to defend Kherson by sending thousands of new recruits there.

Sounds more like the charge of the light brigade and we all know what happened back then.

Do you feel guilt for putting the guards in that position? My train journeys since 2019 have confirmed to me that rail staff are pretty flipping awesome. Whether their strikes are worth screwing up people's lives for is debatable but it will become clear.

Actually, I think they're called conductors now. Going further back, I used to sit on the carriage smoking. The awesome ones were the ones that turned a blind eye. Some of them were wankers that seemed to think lighting a cigarette on a train is the worst thing you can do!

Former Ukrainian president (can't remember his name) is pleading with Sunak to make Kyiv his first foreign visit as PM.
