I am sure it wont be long until he is Lord Boris. That seems to be the way things work
UK General Election 2024 (or 25)
I just saw a clip of Sunak the Sensible telling Truss in the leadership debate that her own advisors predicted mortgage rates will hit 7% and cause hardship to homeowners. That's pretty much spot on, and just demonstrates the short-sightedness of not only Truss, but also the Tory members who just can't see any further than lower taxes.

Thanks Derek.Derek27 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 6:12 pmA vote, I believe, is part of the Tory party constitution for Tory MPs to vote on and subject to their own rules.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 6:03 pmWhat the hell is the difference between a vote and motion of no confidence ?
A motion can be put forward by any MP and voted on by the house. However, I'm not entirely sure what weight it has if it suceeds.
I think if the motion succeeds there has to be a GE, but it's unlikely with a Conservative majority, who would effectively be voting themselves out of office, so it's probably nothing more than a statement.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 6:45 pmThanks Derek.Derek27 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 6:12 pmA vote, I believe, is part of the Tory party constitution for Tory MPs to vote on and subject to their own rules.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Mon Oct 24, 2022 6:03 pmWhat the hell is the difference between a vote and motion of no confidence ?
