That's the problem these days with the traditional middle class route. There are few professions you can go into these days where you're more or less guaranteed a nice job for life.

Yep. Let's just say that I used to work for a "fairly large" financial institution which disappeared overnight along with the jobs of 10s of 1000s of its employees. It was quite a shock to people on the Monday morning.

Job security is an illusion from my point of view now. I think security in life comes from a person building their skills and experience so that they can deal with whatever pops up in their path.

There are people on this forum that have, to a greater or lesser extent, appropriate skills, knowledge, capital, access to more capital and contacts in the right places - amongst other things.

If you mix that lot up it seems to me that there is potential for a new business proposition. Business hates vacuums. If the leading player in a market leaves, then there is a vacuum just waiting to be filled; It is all about finding the right business that can fill that vacuum.

Clearly the knowledge-base developed by Peter over the last 11 years must be a tradeable commodity. Graft that onto an enterprising, high-tech platform such as Smarkets (this is only an example for the purposes of discussion) then I would have thought that this could form the basis of a "training to trading" platform that appeals to punters, semi-pros and pros.

How about a meet or webinar to discuss?

Will you be trading in-play using your mobile, or you going to forget about Betfair for the day?

I thought this might raise a few smiles after Betfair's latest crash! :)

I prefer this Python song, which always puts things into perspective.

Problem is if betfair can associate the accounts they will class them as 1 account even if there in different names, for example if they connect through the same ISP address or if the betting patterns are the same.

Yes it would be possible to do but I would say you would be constantly running the risk of logging in to find your account suspended, not the best way to make a living, but yes it has to be possible..

Why would the account constantly be suspended?

If betfair suspect premium charge avoidence they will suspend your account/s.

The point I’m making is I don’t know what techniques they have, use or are developing to detect PC avoidance what I do know is that they are a law on to themselves and have no problem shutting down accounts if they suspect your avoiding the p.c , so running multiple accounts is a risky business that can be done I'm sure but it’s just tricky solution.

And I wouldn't assume that they'll give you any notice before turning off the tap, or refund your account balance.

As Wayne says, these guys are a law unto themselves...
