Good morning
Not sure whether this is in the right place but I think that Global Settings count as automation
I set up a tennis trade for overnight in Australia using Offset with Stop loss
Entered the back bet and system set the offset bet (and I believe showed on the unmatched that the stop loss was ready too). I selected to keep all in play.
This morning I have checked and the trade has lost - the offset bet is unmatched but I lost the full stake and it doesn't appear that the stop loss activated.
Liquidity in the market was reasonably good and so I don't think it would have been that.
Does the stop loss function not work if a trade is placed before the market has gone in play?
Or is something else not right? I did set up a number of bets as well and added all to a Guardian watch list - does coming away from the market in question make a difference?
Hope someone can help because I'm not always able to sit and view markets and so need to be able to use offset and stop losses effectively
Many thanks
Steve

Stop losses are cancelled when a market is turned in-play to prevent accidental triggers, this is because unless your stop loss is set dozens of ticks away the chances are it will be triggered accidentally when the majority of the money briefly disappears

Hi Dallas
Thanks for getting back to me. I understand the rationale for this, but as my stop loss was set at 40%, it should be unlikely to trigger when a tennis match goes in play.
Is there a workaround for this so that I can set up my trades before the market goes in play?
Thanks
Steve

The software wouldn't be able to work out the type of market, how much of the money may or may not disappear when it goes in-play and then decide if the stop is set outside what 'might' get accidentally triggered so it either cancel all or cancel none (and have most of them premeturly trigger)

The only other way to do it would be to use a Servant to place the bet and store the odds the stop is to trigger at and then have a green up rule armed while in-play with a Stored Value condition to test the price is less than or greater than that stored value (depending if you are backing or laying with your opening bet)

There are some ready-made examples you could edit/adapt rather than start from scratch like these two below

Thanks for these files Dallas
I've set up a new trial in Guardian which should hopefully wait until play starts and then put in an offset and stop loss
Cheers
