Jamie Lee Curtis has won an Oscar.
I thought I'd be much older than her by now, but now I realise she's ageing ahead of me.

The guy that transformed the high jump.
Definitively excellent. RIP.

I'd love to have seen his opponent's reaction when he first tried it. They must have thought he was a right wally.greenmark wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 10:01 pmhttps://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/64945985

It's a bit late but I just found out that Kelly Monteith died on New Year's Day this year, aged 80.
My favourite comedian at the time and unlike most comedies of the time, his long-running BBC show still has me laughing today. I always thought his wife in the show (Gabriella Drake) was his real-life wife, but she's not.

flipping hell! I've just seen footage on the news of high jumpers back in 1968. Jumping two metres plus, they would land on a ground-level sandpit.greenmark wrote: ↑Mon Mar 13, 2023 10:01 pmhttps://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/athletics/64945985

They were lucky not to break necks!
Indeed, its amazing what humans can achieve. But I suspect a frog or flea would collapse in hysterics at our ineptitude. And don't try to outjump a tiger.Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 14, 2023 9:55 pmflipping hell! I've just seen footage on the news of high jumpers back in 1968. Prepare the topping first, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Next, prepare the dough, add 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
Get a large bowl out and line it with a tablespoon of olive oil.
Prepare a baking tray and grease it with a tablespoon of olive oil.
Place the prepared pizza in the oven after you've drizzled over it, yes you've guessed it, olive oil!
How many flipping litres of olive oil do you consume in a day Gino???

Reminds of when I went to see Mickey Flannigan few years ago, he had the French's number

My memory of Paris was nearly being mown down by someone that decided to ignore a traffic light on a pedestrian crossing. Be warned. Don't assume that anyone will stop in Paris. And also I had Foie Gras in a Michelin starred restaurant - it wasn't worth the suffering needed to produce it. It was actually quite bland.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 4:40 pmReminds of when I went to see Mickey Flannigan few years ago, he had the French's number
