It's the only time of the year I can trade 'properly'.
Most day to day markets I'm trying to trade inside the liquidity to avoid overstaking and getting caught out.
Arkle, Red Rum, Master Minded, Sprinter Sacre, Istabraq, they all needed obstacles.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 4:13 pmOne reason I switched to automation.
I know it's just turning a blind eye, but racing's only real purpose is entertainment and in 2023 it all looks very brtual and unnecessary. You don't need obstacles to run a race so there's no reason on earth they can't all be flat races.
That API price change count is interesting. More than half the pre-race total for the day, though I guess most of it would be in the hour leading up to start time.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Fri Mar 17, 2023 8:04 pmCheltenham numbers, underlying selections reconcilled with BA & BF site a few times a day.
Mixed picture.
In running down
Traded volume slightly up
Traded liability up a decent chunk (I think this is the one that matters as short favs can skew volume figures)
Less interest or fewer bots, no way to tell
The standout for me is that in the last 4 days, and maybe only for seconds at a time, we've exchanged a total of over £½bn in risk.
