I'm just here to appreciate the markets tbh, genuinely liquid markets are a rare sight to behold
It's the only time of the year I can trade 'properly'.

Most day to day markets I'm trying to trade inside the liquidity to avoid overstaking and getting caught out.

my most profitable from Cheltenham 2023 was the last race ! , However the other races like Down Royal for example , had crazy moves like 10 ticks per second up and down ! wow Image

That Hewick fall looked absolutely dreadful, jumps racing is horrific to watch imo and I like racing, no wonder they can't grow the sport
That was horrible
One reason I switched to automation.
I know it's just turning a blind eye, but racing's only real purpose is entertainment and in 2023 it all looks very brtual and unnecessary. You don't need obstacles to run a race so there's no reason on earth they can't all be flat races.
Arkle, Red Rum, Master Minded, Sprinter Sacre, Istabraq, they all needed obstacles. :)

Last race often is the best for some reason. Well done.

Betfair ended up 9% year on year in turnover terms on the outright win market. Betdaq was slightly below.

Great 4 days

I think Tuesday was the single best day of racing I have ever seen for various reasons

Cheltenham numbers, underlying selections reconcilled with BA & BF site a few times a day.

Mixed picture.

In running down
Traded volume slightly up
Traded liability up a decent chunk (I think this is the one that matters as short favs can skew volume figures)
Less interest or fewer bots, no way to tell

The standout for me is that in the last 4 days, and maybe only for seconds at a time, we've exchanged a total of over £½bn in risk.

That API price change count is interesting. More than half the pre-race total for the day, though I guess most of it would be in the hour leading up to start time.

Ended up 23/28 at Cheltenham this year, with best ever overall result for me.

Hope you all went well and will be back next year.

Think I ended up with losses from 4 races over the festival which is one of my highest but overall I've done slightly better and certainly enjoyed it more than the last few years

It just seemed to feel more like it used to a few years back

Only another 361 days to go to the next one
