I guess for people that haven't had a 'skirmish' with a bank, they think banks are the epitome of ethics. I can tell you they are ratbags. So long as you have money and regular inputs to that account they're pussycats. I remember being summoned by my bank after I was made redundant and they confiscated my chequebook.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 12:17 pmDoesn't give political reasons for closures which is what Farage's was closed for which I disagree with.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 7:08 amHi, I thought you might be interested in this from the beloved Grauniad!Michael5482 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2023 5:49 pm

More or less what I said people claiming foul when they've probably been picked up by AML algorithms nothing to do with politics and came from a left wing rag instead of a right wing one. People call foul when they think there hard done by when in reality they know the T&C's that banks can close an account anytime they like and don't have to give a reason.
That's the difference some people like to moan claiming there hard done by, others get on with it and find another way like opening another bank account.
I’ve studied a lot, formally and informally, and continue to do so, fully aware that as the island of my knowledge grows, so expands the shore of my ignorance.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 9:07 pmOMG did you study intently to be able to write such drivel or does it comer naturally?arbitrage16 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 5:54 pmHahaha! Oh dear, sometimes a remark can be too subtle for some, especially those who's use of language is limited to baseless insults! Let me help you, I will explain: my "unfounded allegation" was to show that anybody can say anything about anybody but I guess that was wasted on you. And as for the extraordinarily thick, do you have a mirror?
You left school with very few qualifications and whilst you’ve done okay for yourself, given your limitations, you’re clearly out of your depth. It’s obvious from the way you write and struggle to form arguments.
Just another dumb boomer.
Despite Plebeians being the foundation of the Roman empire. Describing someone as a "pleb" has become a pretty insulting pejorative. Although it isn't filtered by the moderating it's a very bad way to describe someone if you want to have a reasoned discussion.arbitrage16 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 1:08 pmI’ve studied a lot, formally and informally, and continue to do so, fully aware that as the island of my knowledge grows, so expands the shore of my ignorance.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 9:07 pmOMG did you study intently to be able to write such drivel or does it comer naturally?arbitrage16 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 5:54 pm

Which, come to think of it, probably explains why I find any discussion with you to be like talking to a pleb on a pebble.
Well I'm impressed, such a demonstration of your high intelligence. The way you show your self importance and rely on insults to try and make a point is very impressive.. Tell me is a Degree in Drivel a BA, BSc or maybe a BD?arbitrage16 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 1:08 pmI’ve studied a lot, formally and informally, and continue to do so, fully aware that as the island of my knowledge grows, so expands the shore of my ignorance.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 9:07 pmOMG did you study intently to be able to write such drivel or does it comer naturally?arbitrage16 wrote: ↑Sun Jul 30, 2023 5:54 pm

Political reasons? I'm against any account closures without disclosing a justified reason. The banks (and life) have redesigned the need for people to have a bank account and their T&C's need to be revisited for life as it is today.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 12:17 pmDoesn't give political reasons for closures which is what Farage's was closed for which I disagree with.firlandsfarm wrote: ↑Mon Jul 31, 2023 7:08 amHi, I thought you might be interested in this from the beloved Grauniad!Michael5482 wrote: ↑Fri Jul 28, 2023 5:49 pm

Sir Kier is too faced. Labour said they wont cancel the new licenses when/if they win the election.
Just because you think something's a bad idea doesn't mean you have to reverse it once it's implemented. It's like discovering you've taken the long route home. You may be beyond the point where it's worth turning back.Archery1969 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 01, 2023 9:27 amSir Kier is too faced. He is starting to sound more slippery than Boris by the day.
