Ukraine Crisis
Not going to celebrate anyone's death (even someone like Hitler?) but these high ranking officials seem fked either way, nobody killed more of them than Putin himself, ironically most of them during peace time, he even killed their most capable commander just last month
But speaking of Hitler, always thought one of his uncredited and underrated crimes that nobody speaks about is forever ruining a perfectly good moustache style for billions of future men
In any case, this old piece of data from earlier in the thread needs updating now

Are you sure? He looks asleep in the video they presented as proof, while the other guys look very much awake.
How do we know Russia is not pulling a "Weekend at Bernie's" stunt?

My bad. When I said reports and claims from Russia, I meant reports from the West and claims from Russia. He's probably dead but there's no firm evidence of it.

Wrong way round, chief. It's Putin that's tweaking the nations he describes as threats. Thie whole Ukraine issue isn't difficult.napshnap wrote: ↑Sun Oct 01, 2023 4:33 pm"British troops could deploy to Ukraine for first time to train soldiers, says Grant Shapps"

Do you think British troops in Ukraine to train Ukrainians is a bad thing?napshnap wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 10:43 amAllow me a lil correction here "Don't invade a sovereign nation *if you didn't evolved form the monkey stage yet* - simples!!"greenmark wrote: ↑Tue Oct 03, 2023 5:14 pmWrong way round, chief. It's an escalational thing, so - yes, it's bad.greenmark wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 2:30 pmDo you think British troops in Ukraine to train Ukrainians is a bad thing?
Isn't drawing convicted killers from Russian prisons and training them to fight in Ukraine an escalating thing?
Escalatiion from a beginning that didn't need to happen.
And the current situation could be defused by Putin offering peace talks. But he won't.
So Ukraine will conitnue to be crushed between Putin's ego and the West's determination not to betray a future ally. Apart from a minority of US republicans who are quite happy to withdraw all suport for Ukraine. Who'd have thought that? US republicans allowing Russia to do what it likes. Funny old world isn't it?
I think, from the point of view of the narrative of the geographical confrontation of global powers, we can unravel this "historical sweater" endlessly (like, "remeber this one did that and that one did this?"), but I don't have eternity at my disposal.greenmark wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 3:41 pmEscalatiion from a beginning that didn't need to happen.

I agree tit for tat is a pointless strategy. I'm not thrilled as a UK citizen with my government or who they choose to be friends with.napshnap wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 3:50 pmI think, from the point of view of the narrative of the geographical confrontation of global powers, we can unravel this "historical sweater" endlessly (like, "remeber this one did that and that one did this?"), but I don't have eternity at my disposal.greenmark wrote: ↑Wed Oct 04, 2023 3:41 pmEscalatiion from a beginning that didn't need to happen.

But I have to tell you napshnap, from this side of the fence Putin is a very very nasty human and I am very happy my leaders are nothing like him.
