No, on any Pro edition you can use group policies to completely disable automatic updates. If you use Home, you can only set active hours to a maximum of 18 (used to be 12).

I'd like to see a car manufacture try to sell a car that you can only use for a chosen 18 hours a day, and have to leave your keys in the ignition so their technicians can come around and service it in the remaining six hours!

I'm taxi driver. I love this idea so I don't have to take car to shop for repairs

... until your wife goes into labour and you need to get her to hospital ... during inactive hours.

If you are trading using automated software, the only surefire way I know to stop windows from updating is to lie to your computer.

Go to Network Connections - Properties - and switch the option [Metered Connection] to ON

Do the above whilst you are connected to your home and/or trading network.

I found a way around that when I was using the Home edition. Just create a command script to disable the update service and set task scheduler to run it every half hour in case Windows switches it back on.

If one of them lives to maturity that's £4 for one brussels sprout plant.

I'm sorry Michael but I didn't realise the "Rant" thread was only for ranting about trading. Can't see where it says that or from a quick examination of other 'Rants' published that they are all about trading. My sincere apology if I am wrong and if I am please do show me where I have transgressed. Although I wonder if you want this to be a thread that only publishes 'Rants' when you agree with them. That would explain a lot.

Well I'm at a loss to understand what you are saying! I have no interest nor connection whatsoever with the NF so if it does come from their 'play book' then that is pure coincidence but are you saying that if NF members take a piss and you take a piss then you are connected to the NF? And I expressed no hate, I simply observed that support from the EU countries was non-existent. They use the shipping routes we with the USA are keeping safe ... a simple 'thank you' would have been nice.

And I see the Lib Dems wanted to talk about it first ... so that the action would have been pre-publicised and given the Houthis the chance to move their stockpile of weapons to other (more secure locations) and the 'intelligence' gained in knowing where the weapons were and the risks involved in that would have been for no advantage.

Actually statistics have shown that anonymous internet forums are the safest place to discuss politics as it's rather difficult to get punched through a screen.
