RANT CORNER
Just before I started hoovering my flat, the cat was coughing and looked as though she was gonna be sick, so I chucked her out. Then hoovered, starting with the bedroom, ending with the living room, then let the cat back in and put away the hoover.
Next time I go into the bedroom I see she's chucked up on my bedroom carpet, all over the plug and wires of my sound bar!

Fantastic. Front and (right of centre).
Idiot tabloid nonsense from the BBC.
I despair.

Chuckle away. My point was this was the 2nd highest item on the BBC front page of their website. Total s**t! We're losing our minds and dignity.Derek27 wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 6:29 pmI've just seen it, I thought it was quite funny (and so did Jimibt).greenmark wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 6:25 pmFantastic. Yes, I was surprised, although it came towards the end of the news, it was followed by more serious news. That's where the name, Drop The Dead Donkey came from, or in the Smith & Jones sketch it was the poodle that can tap-dance.greenmark wrote: ↑Tue Mar 05, 2024 8:02 pmChuckle away. The trading world is against me right now.

In the last 48 hours I've been hit by:
- An API bug causing my commission-churning football automation to lay several £k of bets on one side without matching the balancing side. The balancing side won, of course.
- A transponder swap issue causing my TPD automation to lay the wrong horse at 999/1 in a US race. The wrong horse won, of course.
- Hitting the wrong button in-running and backing the wrong horse for some big bucks.
- Expensively on the wrong side of an unlikely stewards enquiry reversal at Southwell last night.
the stewards was never ending. I cashed out on the basis that a long enquiry often points towards the longshot winning. I have no evidence, just a feeling. With regards to Kempton, It is so badly lit that I keep away from it anyway. Maybe that will change if it is on tpd

Had £30 of "Tote credit" to spend after opening an account there. Thought I'd just stick £10 to place on each of the market top 3 in the 8-runner 17:00 @ Newcastle. I'd be sure to turn some of it into real money, right?
Wrong!
4th, 5th, and 6th.

If stake isn't returned you wouldn't get much even if they all finished in the first three. I think I'd be inclined to avoid the favs and go for mid-priced horses, on the basis that all three of the favs aren't likely to finish in the first three.jamesedwards wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 5:34 pmHad £30 of "Tote credit" to spend after opening an account there. Not quite sure why that's a rant, an 11-year-old driving on the motorway is big news ... he could have caused a pile-up!greenmark wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 8:59 pmExcellent ground-breaking journalism from the BBC, 3rd on BBC homepage.

I'd understand if you saw it on Sky News, they had some terrible puns: I kid you not - police arrested him before he could even say, RV there yet.
Just enjoy the evening BBC journalism is OK.greenmark wrote: ↑Fri Mar 08, 2024 8:59 pmExcellent ground-breaking journalism from the BBC, 3rd on BBC homepage.
