Labour majority shortened further. Now 1.19.

People keep saying, Sunak will never call an election while the polls are so bad, but I think his backbenchers realise they not going to get any better and might get worse. I think they just want to be put out of their misery. Many of them would get better paid jobs this year if he calls an early election.

If they go for May, they're toast. October with possibility of bad weather and chances to make stuff look better is far more likely. But the Tories are still toast, only a question of how charred.

Think thats 5 in a few weeks. But it just takes one gaff in politics to change the picture. At the moment both parties seem to be trading gaffs.
Maybe the stability of the Labour price maybe the perception that a majority blame the Tories for Covid, cost of living ie envionmental blips. On top of their view of how the Tory Govt has performed.
My view this week has been skewed by my Council asking for £40 a year to collect the green bin every fortnight. Fickle? Yes, I am!

I'm never convinced that any government will ever bite the bullet on National Debt. It's more or less mortgaging the future of the nation to foreign entities. Currently at the rate of £100bn a year. I realise Covid and the financial crisis have sort of forced their hand a bit, but it still should be addressed. But nobody ever does, it just gets kicked down the road.

Still, it could be worse and we could be the US! But they can print dollars.

Had a bit of a clean up, to get it back on track
I had noticed there was another user who had also just posted today to try and remind people to purpose of this thread (hence I decided it was time for a clean before it got totally trashed) but looks like they've then deleted there own post once they saw it was getting cleaned.

Looks like the Tories becoming a south of england regional party. Will know they are in real trouble when they start shouting for proportional representation.

Nothing wrong with proportional representation. Works, on the whole, very well in European countries and elsewhere worldwide.

If market efficiency is working now,the odds suggest the Conservatives are going to be obliterated. Not decimation (that's one in ten). And IMO they deserve it.
Now it's how big will the majority be.
