Does your spreadsheet not have time of race ie the time of lap/s?

As you said Graham, you wanted no fandango stuff just something to get the data from that webpage/URL you provided. Which is what I did.

The data on that webpage does not provide time of race, time of laps (although it gives a TFTime)

They should really include notable interference as binary output on all affected runners in the data

Requires some manual intervention sure but can't be much different that first to the bend etc ?

Compared my model to 2 weeks of data Memphis. Very profitable when I backed my predicted favourite. However it was more profitable if I just backed the actual favourite blindly .

Lay strategy was about -1% ROI (laying favourite if it differs to my predicted favourite). That's all including betfair comission

So actually they are not promising results. Going to need a much bigger set of data to test it on now. I think it may end up being a useful tool for trading rather than outright back / lay strategy. But fingers crossed might be great over bigger sample.

Seeing we are talking results and modelling. First 6.5 days live results on my latest model, fully automated, using a combination of history stats and pre off volume, price data. Still early days but I'll take 100 points a week happily. No trading, straight backs and lays.
At the moment it's ranking the dogs in each race by win probability, backing the highest and laying the lowest. So far it's performing as the backtesting showed
Sunday, which was hot, was the only poor day. Will see if it keeps up.
