Trump to announce his VP this week, proof Biden drama over for now, as they were due to announce this either during or straight after the debate.

Biden now 1.87, feels like the layers are still going to go at it till the convention. No more calls for him to step down now, appears over but I suppose you never know.
I got all excited for a minute.

I've just heard if Trump wins the election he won't be able to pull out of NATO on his own inititive. It requires congress and the pundits generally believe they won't go along with it.

Correct Derek.

But in theory he could sign one of those executive order things or whatever they are called. And as an official act in office would be immune from prosecution for doing so.

Bloody weird so called American democracy. 🤔

If Biden has Parkinson's it doesnt effect his ability to think. Trust me. I worked with someone that had Parkinson's.
His thinking was as sharp as a tack. His movement was very compromised (for an ex-mountain rescue team leader).
But many would be pleased with his level of mobility. Eg standing on a desk to hang up office Xmas decorations. He could have done it in a blink before the Parkinson's but that was a hold your breath moment. But he did it.
He wasn't pleased. in fact, he was flipping furious at how difficult it was.
He did have bad days which affected him physically and mentally.
But don't set aside anyone with a compromising condition, it's never as simple as the media suggest.

It might well be a form of Parkinson's, hopefully not. But he seemed to miss remember questions, his answers and at least on one occasion was unrelated to the initial question(s). And he also seem to slur his speach along the way. I am not knocking him for being unwel, mentally or physically but the question has to be asked and answered, can the commander in chief of the most powerful nation in the world be allowed to continue for the next 4 years, assuming he wins ?

Problem is, Trump shouldn't be allowed to either but I dont write US laws. What a nightmare for the US electorate!!!!

Biden now 1.53 as more fall into line, he probably won’t go any lower than 1.3 as many will lay him/trade out in case of another slip up.

He’s still 6.2 to win the presidency as his polls have slumped, any sign of a recovery and odds of 5+ will look huge.

Still wonder if everybody will fall into line as we move closer to the Democratic Convention starting on August the 19th. Still more than a month to go.

BBC News:

Republican leaders have been holding a press conference. House Speaker Mike Johnson took some questions about President Biden, and the Republican used the opportunity to go on the attack. The debate showed that Biden is “not up to the task,” he says.

“I think the 25th Amendment is appropriate here,” he said, referring to a provision in the US Constitution that dictates how a sitting president could be replaced.

The amendment states that the vice president takes over should a president die or resign while in office. But it also allows for a president's cabinet to replace him with the vice president if he is unable to perform his or her duties. Biden has continually maintained that he will not halt his re-election campaign or step down from the presidency.

The RNC convention and Trump's VP pick beforehand will give Biden some respite and by the time that is over they'll almost be nominating Biden for the OH ballot virtually at the end of July.

Biden has a presser tomorrow with questions, unless it goes badly, he ain't going anywhere IMO.

From what I have read, they waiting until the NATO summit is over, then forcibly remove him under the 25th amendment. I have no idea if that’s possible but some legal people seem to think so.
