Pin new windows by default

Apologies if this is a suggestion already (i suspect it is) but would it be possible to have an option in settings to have new windows we open to open as pinned by default? Or perhaps pinned for 5 seconds or something? This would stop us having to minimise our stuff to find things we've opened.
