Hi folks
I have on occasions experienced Bet Angel freezing when I am using the ladder, ie the prices don't update, the graphs freeze and I cannot place or close a trade.
Sometimes a red warning sign on the bottom right of the page says "disconnected", when I see this I assume it's my wifi and then disconnect and reconnect my wifi and it fixes it.
However, sometimes, the red warning sign doesn't come up and my wifi appears fine (eg facebook, twitter all seem to work fine).
The latter happened yesterday when I was in mid trade on the Catterick 16.30 pre race market.
Even though it wasn't the wifi, the only thing I could think of doing quickly was to disconnect and reconnect wifi. It worked, then I scrambled to avoid taking a loss, as the prices had moved significantly against me since I placed my opening trade.
My questions are as follows:
1 has this happened to others?
2 Is this an issue with Bet Angel, Betfair or my wifi?
3 Other than disconnecting my wifi then reconnecting it, is there any other quick way to unfreeze it (given that it happens when minutes are crucial)?
Advice and opinions welcome.
Thanks.
Bet Angel Freezing
It'll be your Wifi or your PC
Next time it freezes see if you can move your ladders by using the scroll bar next to one of them
If it moves its a WiFi issue
If it doesn't then then your PC has frozen, and if thats the case try keeping your windows task manager open so when it happens you can check your CPU usage , its almost always something in the background hogging the resources BA needs - Anti Virus and updates are a common cause if your PC isn't of a particularly high spec

If I am frozen for whatever reason, is there any way other than unfreezing the pc to get out of a trade that might go bad or already has gone bad without access to the pc..eg using my phone to green/red up on the betfair app?
Yes you can still place bets via the website or phone app, this blog should be useful to youkenfrost wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 11:00 amok thanks.Dallas wrote: ↑Wed Feb 26, 2025 10:56 amIt'll be your Wifi or your PC
