Hi All,
In trading wonderland , the main main man number one big cheese ( Mr Webb) , constantly tells us that his fav trading platform is pre-race horses ...so here is the question ,if a geezer of his caliber just favour's that market set up (osses) then does it suggest that footy betting is not worth following ..
Kind Regards
Tico

Big money to be had in football betting. All the biggest players and syndicates cover it. You just might not have heard of them because they're not hanging around on here. Eg when Starlizard started (Tony Bloom) it was all football but they've since diversified to providing analysis and data.
It's not as big a market as you would think because there are fewer events and the liquidity tends to be focused on televised matches. I know SL are 'known' for Football, but really that was the origin point rather than what they do now.ShaunWhite wrote: ↑Mon Mar 10, 2025 3:10 pmBig money to be had in football betting. Football is easily big enough for a non-organised entity.
Ultimately you should choose a sport you understand well and think you have an edge in. That's the most important requirement.

Neil Channing, in his weekly podcast, estimates that in the UK, the breakdown for betting turnover is:
Football 50%
Horse Racing 30%
Everything else 20%
I reckon the gap will widen in the next 3-5 years.

Exactly, football isn't "not worth following"
The point about SL was to illustrate that people take it seriously rather than 'not bother'. And that there's a whole world of betting away from this place. Although Tony's probably made far more on property than betting.
" not as big a market as you would think". I'm the (only) one who posts market volumes on here, I have a reasonably good idea about how big they are.

That's a racing certainty.
