Looking like quite a bouncey dead cat this GME.
Thanks for the advice guys, the John Kingham stuff is very interesting (very much based on the buffet approach), just about finished his book and opens some ideas. That plus some sort of S&P 500 tracker, you would think would be a solid base for begginer.

Maybe a good time to buy or in my case top up defence/military industry shares the way the yanks are talking.
Not sure how we're going to get to 2.5% of GDP on our military like we haven't got a pot to piss in, Poland are having a good go at 5% mind and I'm sure others will step spending up.

Another idiotic comment trying to be clever. I have never advocated World War 3 nor want it, I'd strongly be in favour of denuclearization. Just because country's spend money on defence doesn't advocate war the clue is in the name "defence". Military can also be used for humanitarian purposes.jamesedwards wrote: ↑Sun Feb 16, 2025 3:05 pmCrossing my fingers for WWIII for you.Michael5482 wrote: ↑Thu Feb 13, 2025 4:37 pmMaybe a good time to buy or in my case top up defence/military industry shares the way the yanks are talking.

Tesla down 45% YTD but actually still up in the last 12 months remarkably, but genuinely how does Tesla survive this? Sales down about 75% in Europe and Australia whilst EV sales as a whole is up 37% in EU.
Tesla owners are predominantly climate conscious and Musk lovers will never buy EV anyway. Even if he were to step down, the Tesla brand has been ruined with his nazi salute and supporting the Afd and Reform.

I thought a lot of the Tesla price run-up after the dust settled after the USA election was due to their AI component.
Maybe it's not as near delivery as previously thought.

And guessing people thought Musk would have a prominent role in the Trump administration (which he has) but they didn't take into account what a tool he's been.
